Industry first for Modplan

Modplan LEKA releaseVEKA trade fabricator, Modplan, has reportedly become the first in the UK to offer the new LEKA warm roof. Launched at this year’s FIT Show, the LEKA roof is said to offer a lightweight construction and a ‘U’ value of just 0.15.

Heidi Sachs, managing director of Modplan, said: “We are delighted to be the first fabricator in the UK to offer the LEKA Warm Roof. And if the reception it has received so far is anything to go by, it looks set to take the solid conservatory roof market by storm.”

The LEKA warm roof has been designed to offer ‘superb’ sound insulation, energy efficiency and rapid installation. According to Modplan, the reason it is attracting so much attention, is that it offers something ‘genuinely different’ as it is engineered and installed in layers – a feature that is said to help it achieve such low ‘U’ values.

The structural rafters, which comply with BS EN 13706, are constructed using GRP. This means they don’t suffer from cold bridging, condensation or conductivity as you might expect with aluminium products, or moisture absorption issues associated with timber alternatives. LEKA insulated board, which is claimed to be the third of the weight of plasterboard, is used for the internal finish.

Modplan says the roof is available in any design and can incorporate all sizes of Velux rooflights too providing additional light options.

The company is offering customers a full marketing support package, including lead generation, along with full installer and sales training packages. LEKA has already been approved by Network VEKA as well as Building Control accreditation.
