£500,000 contract
Hepworth Framework, has been awarded a £500,000 contract by Marshall CDP to supply the windows and facades to its site, NWH at Warrington. NWH comprises both new build offices and the refurbishment of an existing building over an 18 month period.
Richard Steckles, managing director of Hepworth’s, which manufactures and installs commercial aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling, shop front facades and glazing systems, said: “Although we have worked with Marshall’s for the last 20 years we cannot be complacent and expect to be awarded work.
The estimating team here worked closely with the project’s lead architect, Richard Ker of Marshall CDP, to ensure that our tender met the exact requirements of the site at a competitive price.”
This was the first contract for Hepworth Framework to have to comply with BREEAM, the BRE Environmental Assessment Method. Marshall’s architect Richard Ker said:
“BREEAM is a simple and effective way of addressing and substantiating the wide ranging environmental and sustainability issues. It enables us, through the support and input of our contractors, to be able to verify the environmental credentials of our buildings”. Work began at NWH Warrington in December 2009.
