The high profile study, provides a listing of what the LSE describes as the ‘UK’s most exciting and dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)’. Sliders UK achieves an entry as the only specialist manufacturer in just a handful of window and door companies to have made the cut in this year’s report. Ian Longbottom, chairman, Sliders UK, said: “We saw good growth across the full spectrum of our offer last year. This included PVC-U and composite door ranges – and very significant growth in our aluminium bifolding inline sliding and door offers. “To have this growth recognised by the LSE is a real achievement. We’re the only specialist manufacturer to feature and it’s a great reflection of the hard work that team here have put. It’s also a reflection on our customers, their hard work and their continuing success.” Independently compiled, companies listed in the repor t have to have shown not just growing revenue over the past four years, but also to have outperformed their sector peers. Sliders UK reported growth in aluminium bi-folding doors and inline sliding doors of 225% in 2014 compared to 2013. With continuing growth last year, and in volume in its range as a whole, the specialist door manufacturer reported a 10% growth in turnover at its year end in December. Network Veka celebrated its AGM and awards ceremony in Stratford- Upon-Avon recently, an event that marked the organisation’s 20th anniversary. Around 250 people attended the day, which began with an informative, specially-built ‘Business Centre’ where a host of specialists were on hand to answer questions and offer advice to member companies. Attendees had the opportunity to learn how suppliers in areas such as finance and marketing could help enhance and increase business opportunities. Member companies were also reminded of the favourable rates and specialist services available from Network Veka’s affiliate partners. The official AGM rounded off the afternoon, with speakers such as John Ogilvie (Network Veka’s MD) and Dave Jones (MD of The Veka UK Group) guiding attendees through the year’s accounts and achievements as well as outlining future plans for the organisation. Before sharing an entertaining video looking back over 20 years of Network Veka milestones, John praised the membership for its achievements since the last AGM: “You installed over £66m of product, taking the cumulative total since 1996 to over £950m,” he said. “At £3,700, average installed values are the highest for eight years and still overall customer satisfaction rates remain around 97%. The Network Veka Academy has seen more than 70 people gain an NVQ in either installation or surveying proving that Network Veka members surpass any industry ‘minimum standards’. “A number of members have already achieved the BSI kitemark for the installation of windows and doors through Network Veka’s association with BSI. In summary, 2015 was yet another year of fantastic achievements, firsts and innovations!” With the official AGM presentation out of the way, it was time to go ‘back to the future’ with an evening celebrating the best of the 1980s.
