118 PRODUCTS & S E R V I C E S Alternative to timber fencing Composite fencing from Eurocell, the UK supplier of building plastics, is said to provide an ‘attractive, environmentally friendly and maintenance-free’ alternative to timber fencing. Manufactured from wood-grain, a composite comprising 75% recycled material, Eurocell composite fencing claims to offer ‘the look and feel of timber without the hassle’, and ‘the durability of concrete without the weight and health and safety concerns’. Wood-grain consists mainly of recycled PVC-U, with a premium wood composite surface, and is guaranteed for 20 years against rotting. Composite fencing consists of panels weighing less than 5kg that are slotted into place and stacked to the required height. Replacing wooden panels in an existing fence is described as ‘simplicity itself’: just remove old panels and slot into the existing concrete posts. Composite fencing wood-grain fence posts are also very easy to install as, like the panels, they can be sawn to measure and fixed using the system’s ‘SupaSpike’ – whereby the spike is driven into the ground and the post fitted over the top. For surfaces such as driveways and pavements, a bolt down version is available. www.eurocell.co.uk EasyVent trickle ventilation North West fabricator, Dekko Window Systems, is offering a new state-of-the-art ventilation system, EasyVent, to its customers. Manufactured by injection moulding specialists, Patterson & Rothwell, EasyVent is a multi-position vent, which provides a secure way to allow air to flow through a window frame in order to prevent condensation. The product is tested to BSEN 1026:2000 & BSEND1027:2000 and is made from specialist UV resistant materials. Fitting a large variety of windows with its size options of 2,000mm, 3,000mm and 4,000mm, the vent is described as ‘aesthetically pleasing’ with its snap on screw cover caps and standard colour options of white, mahogany and golden oak, with bespoke colour matching available on request. Dekko’s sales director, Kurt Greatrex, said: “EasyVent is extremely simple to fit and operate and this, coupled with its high specification, is making it an increasingly popular choice for installers, house builders and existing customers.” EasyVent is moulded at Patterson & Rothwell’s extensive Lancashire site, has a five year warranty and is available via the following distributers: DGS, Rocplas, Whizzel, and BD Supplies. www.dekkowindows.com ‘Game changing’ finance package Leads2trade, the UK home improvement lead generation business, has teamed up with retail finance group OmniCapital, reportedly known in the financial services sector for its work with names including Currys and Jessops, to offer its members a new ‘game changing’ finance deal. Finance for some home improvement products, such as solar panels, has been ‘squeezed’ recently, following cuts in government subsidy and challenging economic times have often made it difficult for consumers to pay outright for home improvements they require. This new finance package from Leads2trade aims to alleviate both problems and ‘put smaller businesses and tradesman on a level playing field’, as, according to Leads2trade, they may have otherwise been ‘pushed out of the equation’ by the ‘industry giants’. There are several finance options available including 60 months 0% representative and up to 84 months terms on interest bearing loans. The whole process ensures compliance and is described as ‘frictionless’ for the consumer. Trim installation time by half Do you want better? Bohle has launched its new swing-door self-closing corner fitting, which in eliminating the recess required to house traditional floor springs, reportedly trims installation time by half. The innovation replaces the conventional floor springs used in traditional internal swing-door self-closing systems with a ‘cutting-edge’ hydraulic system. A new addition to Bohle’s patch swinging door system, the new self-closing corner fitting doesn’t need to be recessed and, according to Bohle, can be fitted in as little as 45-minutes, using just four screws to achieve a fixing to the floor, as part of a simple two-stage process. This is said to deliver a ‘significant on-site time saving’ compared to traditional installation techniques, including time lost for cement to cure. Also featuring simple and easy zero positioning of cover plates, the double action ‘push/pull’ system opens to 90° and features fully adjustable closing speeds. Suitable for use in buildings with a mid-range footfall and underfloor heating, the system is fully tested to 500,000 opening and closing cycles in line with EN 1154. www.bohle-group.com National Plastics, the UK independent trade counter, has just launched a new website, www.wewantbetter.co.uk, where people can nominate the town they’d most like a National Plastics store to open in. And as an extra incentive, every person who nominates a town where a new store goes on to be opened will be entered into a prize draw to win £5,000 worth of building plastics of their choice. The company wants to take its total number of stores to 50 by the end of 2017 and the aim of the new campaign is to find out which towns need the core values the company brings the most. Geoff Foster, the company’s managing director, said: “There are three core values that make National Plastics different. “We offer the right products with the right quality – if we don’t sell it, you won’t need it. We also offer the right price – we strive to offer the best price in the area and offer trade discounts too. And we offer the right service – we’ve got over 25 years’ experience in the building plastics industry and we pride ourselves on a service that’s second to none.” For those who have yet to experience the National Plastics approach, now’s your chance to change that and win £5,000 of building plastics too – simply log on to: www.wewantbetter.co.uk www.ggpmag.com April 2016 The Leads2trade team have joined forces with OmniCapital to offer a ‘game changing’ finance deal
