TRADE NEWS Eurocell expands with Vista acquisition Lumi ‘wows the crowds’ The recent Selfbuild and Improve milestone Your Home Exhibition in Belfast has marked the first official launch of the G-15 Award winning Lumi system in Ireland. With two manufacturing sites near Bologna, Italy, Giesse offers a range of high quality window and door hardware, particularly for the aluminium sector. Current major markets for the business are in Europe, but it also has growing businesses in South America, China, the Middle East and India. Darren Waters, ERA chief executive officer, said: “Given the rapid growth that the aluminium sector is currently experiencing in the UK, I’m delighted that ERA will now be able to offer customers full access to the Giesse range. This makes us the ultimate one-stop-shop for door and window fabricators across PVC-U, timber and aluminium. “Alongside ERA’s mechanical hardware and vertical sliding window balances, the company’s complete product offer includes decorative hardware from Fab&Fix, sealing products from Schlegel and now dedicated hardware for aluminium systems from Giesse. “These are very exciting times to be part of Tyman Plc. We’re looking forward to introducing Giesse products to our customers.” PVC-U Systems company, Deceuninck, has released its 2015 annual report, detailing strong growth in all regions except Russia. This growth is reportedly driven by the successful integration of Pimapen (in Turkey), new customers and improved operational efficiencies. Consolidated 2015 group sales increased 16.6% to €644.5 million (€552.8 million in 2014). Gross margin increased to 28.2% (2014: 27.3%) mainly due to operational efficiencies. EBITDA increased 54% to €54.4m and net profit by 27% to €13.3m. Capital expenditures also increased to €38.7m in 2015 (2014: €31.3m). 14 3,000,000th Distinction Doors has celebrated the three millionth composite door leaving its manufacturing and distribution facility in Tankersley, Barnsley. This milestone comes off the back of the recent dispatch of the 10,000th painted door from the company’s state of the art paint plant. Andy Grogan, Distinction’s national sales manager, said: “This is a significant milestone for Distinction Doors and demonstrates just how popular our composite door is. All employees, both past and present, have played their part and of course, this milestone would not have been achieved without our loyal customers.” “Homeowners in particular loved the frameless windows and we noticed that many came back for a second look.” As well as using the show to present the full range of Lumi windows and doors to thousands of homeowners, Apeer also took the opportunity to introduce potential trade customers to the products and its dealer network. After a ‘hugely successful’ show, Apeer says it has signed up for the next Selfbuild and Improve Your Home Exhibition in Dublin from 9- 11 September 2016. Eurocell – the UK manufacturer, distributor and recycler of window, door, conservatory and roofline products – has announced the acquisition of Vista Panels from CorpAcq Ltd. Vista is a major manufacturer of composite and PVCU entrance doors, with a turnover of approximately £14 million. CorpAcq bought Vista in April 2008. Vista is said to have been ‘at the forefront of growth in the composite doors market in the UK’, with a strong presence in the social housing and private RMI sectors. It is also the sole supplier of entrance doors to Eurocell and a significant consumer of Eurocell profile. The Wirral based company employs over 100 people nationwide. Eurocell offers a wide range of PVC-U doors, including French doors, as part of its Eurologik and Modus systems and in-line patio doors in bar length and kit form. It also claims to be the UK market leader in PVC-U bi-fold doors, with the Eurocell Aspect system reportedly still the only product currently available to achieve both BBA and full Secured by Design accreditation. Keith Sadler, managing director of Vista Panels, said: “I’m delighted. We have forged a close working relationship with Eurocell over 10 years, so we feel like a member of the family already.
