26 T H E F I T S H O W P R E V I E W Apeer to unveil exclusive new locking system Not content with just bringing its GAward winning Lumi window and doors to this year’s FIT Show, Apeer has announced that it will also be unveiling its new easyPilot Nordic window locking system; another innovative industry first that has been developed in association with hardware specialist, Winkhaus. Unlike a standard restrictor, which only opens to one position, Apeer says the easyPilot Nordic system allows the window to be locked into any opening position, simply by using the window’s handle. The system is said to be exclusive to Apeer’s Lumi windows in the UK and will feature on all the company’s Lumi window products to be displayed on stand 208. Asa McGillian, Apeer’s managing Thermoseal to exhibit in Innovation Zone Lift storage procedure to another level Specialist forklift manufacturer, Combilift, says that if you want to make better use of your storage space, speed up handling procedures and boost productivity then you should pay a visit to stand 316 where it will be displaying its customised products for the safe and space saving handling of long loads and palletised goods. Since the company launched its first 4 tonne capacity C4000 truck in 1998, Combilift has reportedly established itself as a firm favourite in the sector: the current range of models, with lift capacities starting at 1.5 tonnes, is designed to enable easy handling of raw materials such as stillages of aluminium and PVC-U, as well as finished products. Combilift will be exhibiting a model from its Combi-CB range. These compact, counterbalance design all-wheel drive forklifts feature have multidirectional capability and can handle both palletised and long length products in narrow confines, offering a high level of versatility. They are available with capacities of up to 4 tonnes, with diesel, LPG or electric power options. Combilift says its forklifts are designed to dramatically reduce loading and offloading times and their narrow aisle capability compared with reach or counterbalance forklifts ensures maximum and cost effective use of valuable warehouse storage space. MD, Martin McVicar, commented: “We continue to develop more models that are a neat fit with the demands of the window, door and conservatory industries. Materials handling is a crucial issue for both large and smaller operations alike and we look forward to be able to bring visitors up to date on the latest developments from the global leader in 4-way forklift technology – and to help lift your handling and storage procedures to another level.” www.ggpmag.com April 2016 director, said: “We have been working with Winkhaus for years and we know from experience that they supply reliable, high quality products. I like to think we reinvented the window with the ‘edge to edge’ glazing that Lumi offers, but now we’ve developed it one stage further with the addition of the easyPilot Nordic locking system. It’s a neat and functional design that offers far greater flexibility than a standard restrictor – you can now open the window to any position and then securely lock it in place with just a turn of the handle.” The easyPilot Nordic window locking system is a 22mm backset, torsion bar brake lock that has been developed and rigorously tested by Apeer and Winkhaus, and is exclusive to Apeer’s Lumi range of windows in the UK. Lumi features triple glazed units that are bonded to an internal GRP subframe for ‘unrivalled’ strength and energy efficiency – they are said to be visually stunning, but also extremely practical for installers as they can be re-glazed on site if required. Visit stand 208 for a demonstration, and to try out the easyPilot Nordic window locking system for yourself. The Fit Show 2016 will see Thermoseal Group showcase its highest performance spacer systems – Thermobar and Thermoflex Warm Edge Spacers – on stand A60 in the Innovation Zone. Marketing manager, Samantha Hill, said: “Thermoseal Group has spent millions of pounds in recent years on the development of new products and in enhancing our innovation centre. We now have a wide variety of equipment and the expertise we have in the IG industry and IG products puts our offering beyond any others. “At the FIT Show, we would like to show installers how our product quality and the back-up service we offer is the best in the industry. We’d also like to show our Thermobar Interbar and Duplex Systems to simulate multi-pane windows using a warm edge solution. Thermobar systems offer a much lower heat transfer than alternative aluminium systems.” Thermoseal Group is a leading UK manufacturer of warm edge spacer systems and supplier of over 1,500 insulated glass (IG) components. With over 35 years of experience supplying to IG manufacturers and a large private investment into manufacturing and development of its own IG component manufacturing site with a dedicated product innovation centre, Thermoseal Group has a continual flow of new IG products. All products supplied by Thermoseal Group are tested by its in-house innovation centre which houses a wide range of equipment dedicated to testing the tolerance and overall performance of its products. The group also has its own EN1279 test centre to make and test its own IG units to European standards and beyond. Samantha Hill Asa McGillian
