Switchable glass to debut in Innovation Zone Clayton Glass will be exhibiting in the Innovation Zone at this years FIT Show, and will be presenting the new Smartglass Dynamic switchable glass. The product will also be featured at the very front of The International Centre Telford as visitors arrive at the show. Smartglass Dynamic is a clear glass that, at the push of a button, can reportedly transform across a number of intermediate states to a fully blue tinted state in just a matter of minutes. According to Clayton Glass, in its fully tinted state, this revolutionary glass technology from Saint Gobain can block 91% of the sun’s rays and reduce light transmission down to just 1%. In its clear state it has similar properties to a standard IGU and for ‘everything else’, there are two intermediate states. Clayton Glass says that this new electrochromic switchable glass technology is now commercially viable and will initially be available in a range of lantern roofs on a 10 day lead time, available from a select number of partners, including Prefix Systems. The stand will feature one static and two interactive samples of the Smartglass Dynamic in action, including an ultraSKY lantern roof, along with a live video 54 T H E F I T S H O W P R E V I E W demonstration. Smartglass Dynamic is part of an expanded range of specialist solar control glass for conservatories, Orangeries and lantern roofs and includes Smartglass-W, which is a product range specifically designed for conservatory doors and windows, along with large span bi-folding EvoNET software in the spotlight Business Micros expects its EvoNET business management software to be the biggest draw on its stand at the FIT Show. EvoNET is said to be the most popular management software currently in the industry and much of Business Micros’ dramatic growth over the past year has reportedly been driven by demand for the system from some of the industry’s biggest names. Business Micros says EvoNET gives fabricators the ability to track and analyse every aspect of their business – from receipt of the initial sales enquiry to delivery of the finished window or door as well as access to an ‘unprecedented’ level of information about how they are performing. At the show, the Business Micros team will be demonstrating how the system works alongside Evolution software in monitoring production and, more importantly, in generating reports at the touch of a button on key areas such as sales conversion rates, cost of production and margins. There will be also be updates on Business Micros’ ongoing software developments and its progress in delivering the next generation of software for the window industry. Visitors will have the chance to give their feedback on what is already being planned and even to submit their very own wish list of features which they would like to see included. doors and lift and slide patio doors.
