Ace Aluminium forecasts £2.5m turnover Ace Aluminium is forecasting a turnover of £2.5m for the forthcoming year, with continued healthy profits. Following ‘exceptional growth and demand’ from clients and a recent £525,000 funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial, the company is set to purchase a head office in Great Ayton. Established in October 2011 by Andrew Platts, Ace Aluminium supplies and installs curtain walling, windows and doors. The business also offers a project consultancy service to help with feasibility, logistics, design and cost analysis. Andrew Platts said: “The new property is a great opportunity for the business as it will provide more space, allowing for future growth. The team at Santander has been extremely supportive and we are confident that this move will be a great next step for us.” 46 ALUMINIUM CDW invests in factory overhaul Aluminium fabricator, CDW Systems, says that it has invested significantly to update its factory as part of a longterm growth strategy The company has reportedly signed off cheques totalling ‘hundreds and thousands of pounds’ in order to ensure its factory and manufacturing process is as lean as possible. The changes include switching to vertical racking instead of horizontal, to allow for more storage space and increased efficiency. A new mezzanine area has also been built in the factory, which will service as a cafeteria and breakout space for employees. The investments have been made in order to prepare CDW Systems for further growth, following two consecutive record breaking years in business. Jerry Webb, managing director of CDW, commented: “As we’ve grown and become busier, we want to keep investing in the latest infrastructure and technology to streamline production.” Alongside the restructure of the factory, CDW Systems has introduced a second shift, which has increased production to 16 hours a day. Overseeing the changes are a newly appointed board of directors, including sales director, operational director, technical director and production director. The new team of directors will be officially unveiled in the coming weeks. Jerry concluded: “CDW has experienced phenomenal growth recently and with the investments in the new factory, alongside recruiting one of the best teams in the aluminium sector, we have the resources in place to continue this trajectory and help our customers grow too, over the following months.”
