THE FEDERATION IS ONE OF THE EARLY PIONEERS OF CONSUMER PROTECTION WITHIN THE HOME IMPROVEMENT INDUSTRY. The result of the recent EU referendum has created major divisions in all levels of society within our country. All the negative rhetoric now surrounding our decision to leave the European Union will continue for a long time to come and the reverberations will be felt far and wide. One thing is for sure and that is the decision, as Mr Cameron has said, cannot be reversed. We now have a new leader but without a plausible opposition party and oh by the way without an England football manager. The one thing the country now needs is a coming together and an urgent requirement for unification and a structured way forward with good coherent leadership. The home improvement industry has, like other industries seen healthy growth over recent years. Mr Osborne is suggesting new levels of austerity with increased taxes and interest rates. It is more important than ever that we work together to maintain our goals and that is exactly what the Federation has been doing for the last 27 years for its members and their customers. The Federation was one of the early pioneers of consumer protection within the home improvement industry. Others have tried and disappeared, others have tried to copy but copies are generally flawed. A considerable number of our members have been with us for a large part of our history, clearly recognising that the togetherness, which we all agree is now needed more than ever, has helped their companies grow and created a sense of well-being with their customers. David Martin of Elglaze Ltd Earith Cambridgeshire, the longest serving Keith Whittle of Plastics Window Federation & David Martin of Elglaze member of the Federation comments as follows: “ We have been members of the Plastics Window Federation since August 1989. This has enabled us to promote the highest level of protection to our customers in the form of insurance backed guarantees and deposit protection which we feel is second to none in the industry. Additionally their support and technical back up has helped to put our company in the very strong position in the market place that it enjoys today” It may well transpire that a lot of consumer directives emanating from Brussels may change in the fullness of time, but one thing is for sure, that to grow in business the most important thing is to look after your customers both new and old. The Federations primary role is to work alongside its members and help to enhance the service and backup they provide for their customers. As we are now a nation which stands alone the Federation has comfort in knowing that all of our consumer products are underwritten by an insurer actually based on these shores, compliant with UK Ombudsmen and Financial Services Compensation schemes. The Federation is delighted to announce that we are in the process of updating all of our promotional material as well as a revamp of our current website. As with life generally and the same can be applied to business sometimes we are a little afraid of change and the principle of inertia takes over. It is not however a difficult or arduous task to change from your existing consumer protection provider and join the PWF. No unnecessary appointments or visits merely a simple process over the telephone/email and membership procedures can be completed in a matter of days. And as importantly is the fact that our premium charge is a ‘one price fits all’ which is not linked to the contract price and is applicable to any domestic installations of windows, doors and conservatories. No sliding scale of charges and no hidden extra costs. Why not call on 01582 456147 or email ins@pwfed.co.uk and take this opportunity to join a market leader. 01582 456147 For membership enquiries email: ins@pwfed.co.uk
