Products of 2013 Success with ProLinea Twin Cam Espag Trade fabricator, Sterling PVC-U, reports ‘real success’ with Mila’s ProLinea Twin Cam Espag, which it chose for its range of PVC-U casement windows fabricated in the Halo Eclipse system. Sterling PVC-U chose the new ProLinea Twin Cam Espag in line with its strategy of keeping pace with the latest market innovations for the benefit of its customers. Managing director, Neil Messenger, said: “Mila was already supplying us with specialist gearing from Siegenia for our bi-fold and patio doors and had shown that it could meet the service levels we expect and with the addition of the ProLinea Twin Cam, we are strengthening what is now a very successful partnership.” www.mila.co.uk Bidirectional, multipoint locking December 2013 37 Patio performer ‘Flamboyant’ lines Software developer of ERP options for the glass and glazing industry, Jotika Software, has launched a new website showcasing the company and product range in what is described as ‘a more interactive format’. The integration of video demonstrations and screen galleries is designed to give the customer a greater experience when investigating features and benefits developed over 24 years. Users of Jotika’s ERP software Gtrak3, have their own secure user login, to carryout updates for themselves at their own convenience. Overseas customers from the Middle East, South Africa, Russia and India, also now have the ability to contact their own market representative, directly from the contact page. www.jotika.com KAT UK says it is experiencing an increase in demand for its aluminium patio door, which shares its ‘beautiful’ marine grade aluminium finish with the company’s bi-folding door. For very large openings which fall outside the design parameters of a standard patio door, KAT UK can also offer a triple track aluminium system, which allows multiple sashes to slide in one direction, thereby opening up two thirds of the opening. Both patio doors are available in single or dual colours from a near limitless range of RAL colours, with a number on a short lead time. Designed, manufactured and assembled at Nico's UK production facility, the Nico RAM is described as a ‘cost effective’ multipoint locking system, with bidirectional cams at each end of the locking bar. The longest two sizes also feature a central cam. In operation, the outer pairs of mushroom cams travel outwards into specially designed security keeps, which provide anti-jemmy protection from any direction. For maximum corrosion protection and an ‘attractive’ silver finish, it is plated with Nico Supercoat 500, which provides over 480 hours salt spray resistance (BS EN1670 Class 5). The Nico RAM locking system is available in five sizes up to 1,150mm. Adjustable cams and a wide selection of keeps, make it suitable for most popular window profiles. www.nico.co.uk VBH added to the greenteQ door knocker range this summer with the launch of the Doctor and Pony Tail styles. Suited to traditional period properties, VBH says that the Doctor knocker features the ‘flamboyant flowing lines often chosen by the Victorian professional classes’. The fact that the design allows for a ‘hefty rap on the door to wake a sleeping physician in the event of an emergency’ may also be a factor behind the ‘Doctor’ name, according to VBH. The Pony Tail knocker is said to offer a more ‘compact and subtle design’ that provides homeowners with ‘another attractive alternative’ to the standard knocker styles. Both new knockers feature the greenteQ quick fit fixing method to speed up and simplify the fitting process, while removing the need to fix through the door. They also both feature the ‘familiar groove’ that marks them out as part of VBH’s popular greenteQ Suite. www.vbhgb.com Interactive showcase New opportunities with Hi+ Architectural aluminium systems manufacturer, Metal Technology, has added to its High Insulation (Hi+) range to take advantage of opportunities in the residential, social housing and hotel sectors. The latest addition to the Hi+ family is the 5-35 Hi+ high performance thermally enhanced tilt and turn window, which with the 4-35Hi+ high performance thermally enhanced casement window and 5-20D Hi+ high performance thermally enhanced door offer a suite of systems that are said to provide high levels of structural integrity, weather performance and security. The Hi+ range, in conjunction with the correct glass specification, is designed to comply with current and proposed building regulations’ future thermal requirements. Metal Technology has developed this range of high performance window and doors using the latest technology. The company has developed bespoke thermal gaskets, cellular foams and polyamide thermal isolators, which will allow architects and designers to achieve ‘impressively’ low ‘U’ values. www.metaltechnology.com
