Products of 2013 Mobile Friendly site Thermoseal Group, manufacturer of Thermobar and Thermoflex Warm Edge Spacers has introduced a new website. With a ‘mobile friendly’, icon-driven menu, the site allows easy one-click navigation to any of over 1,500 insulated glass components. Visitors to the site will have access to: product catalogues, technical information and downloads organised by search filters for easy location. Plus, access to product and industry news, including answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) and events information. Samantha Hill, marketing manager at Thermoseal Group, explained: “With such a large product range, it’s very difficult to create a site with easy navigation to every product. So, after some thought, we decided to organise the components we supply into key categories and represent them with icons. Our next step with the website will be a dedicated mobile platform site, and then an online order system for our account customers.” www.thermosealgroup.com 40 December 2013 Proud to hit a new low Window system supplier, Halo, has unveiled the 'TwinSash' which is said to be able to achieve a ‘U’ value of 0.38 W/m²K and reduce noise levels by around 50dB. This level of performance is reached by using triple glazed, krypton filled units and foam-filled sections. Halo says that it can achieve ‘extremely low’ ‘U’ values using two 28mm double glazed IGUs (air filled, float glass and aluminium spacer bar) the TwinSash can achieve a ‘U’ value of just 1.2. TwinSash is also said to be one of the only PVCU window systems to meet the requirements for Passivhaus. www.halo-uk.com A real and robust garden room Still pioneering the VS Designed for living Door-Stop now guarantees that if one of its three day composite doorsets doesn’t arrive on the day promised when ordered, it’s free! The terms are simple: installer customers who make a claim will get their money back through orders placed in the following 30 days. MD, Nick Dutton, commented: “We’re so confident of our service – with an average 99% of orders delivered on time, in full – we’re literally putting our money where our mouth is with a guarantee that continues Door-Stop’s tradition of leading the field. The garden room has clearly captured the imagination of the home improvement market and quite rightly so with Prefix Systems’ Garden Room Roof, which the company describes as the industry’s first real and robust solution that’s been fully structurally tested and designed to BS6399. Further development of the Garden Room Roof has followed the successful launch 12 months ago, with the introduction of three new tile finishes and a ‘stunning’ eaves overhand detail, with several ‘new, exciting’ developments to follow in 2014. www.prefixsystems.co.uk Halo, a brand of The Veka UK Group, has unveiled a newly updated retail brochure. The 32 page 'Designed for Living' brochure showcases a range of windows, doors and conservatories. The new brochure features highlighted information about the levels of energy efficiency and security features that can be specified. The company claims the information is presented in a 'jargon-free' format to help homeowners choose the perfect home improvements for their property. Sales and marketing director of The Veka UK Group, Colin Torley, explained: “We felt it was time to update Halo's retail brochure to showcase the product range. This brochure shows off Halo's varied product range in a simple and accessible way.” www.halo-uk.com If any one style of window can claim the most credit for sweeping away the old anti PVC-U prejudices, it has to be the vertical slider – and if any one company has spearheaded that, it’s Quickslide. “We played a big part in opening up this market,” said Quickslide’s Adrian Barraclough. “We developed a highly authentic looking window and maintained a reasonable price for it and we’ve invested heavily in creating awareness among consumers that installers can benefit from.” Just as important as the product is the service and support, said Adrian: “We’re proud to say that Quickslide installers see us more as partners than just a materials supplier.” www.quickslide.co.uk “Our unique online ordering and management system is designed to minimise errors, but on the rare occasion something does go wrong, customers know they’re covered. And we’ve made it easy to make a claim too. All a customer has to do is log in, select the door they ordered, and fill in the details.” www.door-stop.co.uk Money back guarantee
