Each product in the series is available in polished brass effect, polished chrome effect or anodised silver finishes. www.crystal-direct.co.uk New restrictor 70 December 2013 BBA certified hardware Marketing service nominated Emplas has unveiled its exclusive new window hardware range, designed to give installers ‘meaningful differentiation’ at the point of sale. To be launched early in 2014, the new offer features an elegant design underpinned by high quality manufacture and function. This includes a heavy sprung latching block for a positive ‘click’ on closing, plus solid zinc baseplate for added security. The window handle range has also been designed to increase ease of use, including an ergonomic design which features a longer handle for greater leverage and easier, smoother, operation. Available in a range of six colours: white; gold; chrome; satin and polished bronze and black; the offer also comes with a 10-year guarantee. www.emplas.co.uk Carl F Groupco has launched the CFGLock+, a cable restrictor designed to restrict how far windows open, thus reducing the risk of accidental falls. Produced ‘for ease of use and with health and safety in mind’, the CFGLock+ reportedly meets CE test standards and is said to be suitable for new, retro-fit and existing installations. Designed for PVC, timber or aluminium profiles, fitting is fast and simple, with full instructions and screws supplied. Norman Berrill, Carl F Groupco’s sales director, said: “Ensuring window safety is important for all users, but particularly so when people are vulnerable or not familiar with their operation. In addition to the home, application examples include hospitals, care homes, hotels, schools and nurseries.” Key locking is provided as standard with a push button version available to order. A cable length of 150mm is provided. Longer cable lengths, spare keys and colours other than white are provided as special orders. www.carlfgroupco.co.uk Nico Manufacturing, the UK manufacturer of hardware, has recently completed BBA certification for its range of window products. The culmination of a 12 month process, Nico is now fully BBA compliant across its complete range – not only friction hinges but also locking systems and ancillary devices. All Nico friction hinges, plus shootbolts, espagnolettes and multipoint locking devices are covered by the BBA certification, which assures customers that every Nico product has been independently tested and awarded an Agrément certificate. The Nico manufacturing and quality control process has also been thoroughly inspected and evaluated, with regular BBA monitoring taking place twice a year and a full and comprehensive reassessment every three years. BBA certificates for all relevant products and systems are available for customers to demonstrate the quality and performance of their hardware. www.nico.co.uk MRA Marketing has been shortlisted for four Construction Marketing awards. Since 2004, the marketing service has won seven times and been a finalist 15 times, and director Lucia Di Stazio (left) is delighted the specialist agency has been recognised again for helping companies grow. “It’s an honour to be shortlisted again,” commented Lucia, “particularly in one of the most positive years the construction industry has had since 2008. With the UK finally stepping out of recession we’re seeing more firms doing more marketing, so we’ve had to work harder to win share of voice for our campaigns, and share of the markets for our customers!” MRA is a finalist for Swisspacer Ultimate’s Best Product Launch, Best Professional Services for Consumer Credit Solutions, Strategic Marketing & Planning for EH Smith and shortlisted as a joint entry with Door-Stop for Best Use of Website.
