Mark climbs ranks to MD Senior Architectural Systems, has appointed Mark Wadsworth as its new managing director. Mark replaces former MD, Lennart Jonsson, who founded the company in 1991, as he takes up his new role as chairman of the board. After joining the company in 1993 as a one-year placement student, Mark climbed through the ranks to become operations director in 2007. Mark has taken on increased responsibility and this latest promotion recognises that he now runs the operation on a daily basis. Mark said: “I am honoured to have been appointed as managing director. With the support of operations manager, Paul Connall, Pete has successfully demonstrated his ability to work under pressure whilst retaining a positive attitude, since joining the company in 2005 and is now a firm asset to the team. The expansion of S&S Plastic’s 3D laminating operation has also prompted the company to employ a dedicated foiling manager to take full control of this department. Jamie Clarke (right) will work closely with the sales and production team to ensure planning of the department runs smoothly to meet customer requirements. POPPY RUN: The Veka UK Group's chosen charity for the second half of 2014 is The Royal British Legion and recently, a team from Veka’s HQ in Burnley competed in the 5k Poppy Run in Accrington. Head of human resources, Gabriela Hammond, explained: “A team of us here at Veka were delighted to take part in the 5k Poppy Run to raise money for The British Legion and Poppy Scotland. We had staff from numerous departments joining the fun including, HR, finance, warehouse and technical. It was hard work, but it definitely helped keep us motivated that we were contributing to such a good cause!”
