However, while many industry reports can sometimes be based on the interpretation of statistics (and we all know what can happen when people put a spin on statistics) the results of this particular survey are particularly illuminating. The CPA commissioned Insight Data to quiz over 12,000 installers on how business has been in 2014, and what they predict for the immediate future. Compared to 2013, 59.38% said that profit margins had increased this year (6.25% said that they had decreased) with just over half reporting that the amount of work available had increased and a very convincing 71.88% declaring that they expected sales to increase in 2015. More than half those polled also expected the industry, and the economy in general, to continue to grow – in fact the only thing that wasn’t positive about the report was the topic of recent changes to legislation. It seems that our nations fabricators have not taken too kindly to the enforcement of mandatory insurance backed guarantees… We will have a full breakdown of the results in the next issue of GGP, but to whet your appetite in the mean time, you can read the summary on page 13. On another note, a big congratulations to all the winners of this year’s G-14 Awards. If all the recent industry reports are to be believed (and why shouldn’t they be), then 2014 has been a great year for many, but for all those that collected a gong at the Hilton Park Lane on November 21, it really will have been one to remember. I hope you enjoy the December issue, and that you have time to relax and unwind over the Christmas holidays. It certainly looks like it will be all systems go for 2015! Luke Wood Editor
