Filler seals cavity gaps New ISO-Bloco Filler from ISO-Chemie is said to provide a ‘fast and cost effective solution’ for sealing the cavity wall and weatherproofing the window in a check reveal situation. Specifically developed for cavity wall applications, ISO Bloco Filler is fitted between the inner and outer brick walls to provide what ISO-Chemie describes as a ‘high performance, reliable and effective’ sealing tape option for all weather protection. A special elastic foam filler block provides the basis for sealing the window against the brickwork before forming an airtight closure between the window and the wall aperture to ensure compliance with window energy saving regulations (EnEV) and the RAL quality assurance association. The second component is a foam sealing bar designed to seal the window frame against the outer wall and protect the window connection joint against the elements. ISO-Bloco Filler can be installed all the way around the cavity aperture to provide an airtight seal, making it suitable for check reveals of up to 30%. www.iso-chemie.co.uk Mila has launched a new range of door knockers, giving its customers the chance to supply doors with a full suite of Mila branded hardware. Manufactured in either sand cast or forged brass, depending on the design, the range includes a choice of 10 contemporary and traditional designs, all produced ‘to the renowned Mila quality standards’, including salt spray and acid testing to guarantee the durability of the finish. Available with free next day delivery, the knockers are offered in three different sizes (4in, 6in and 8in) in black, white, gold, polished, smokey and satin chrome, to ‘coordinate perfectly’ with the ProSecure, ProLinea and ProStyle door furniture ranges. The knockers’ launch means that fabricators can now produce a door with a full suite of Mila hardware. According to Mila, this gives themselves a competitive advantage, ‘not just because of the proven quality and durability of the products but because of the power of the Mila brand in both the trade and retail markets’. www.mila.co.uk Order what you want, when you want December 2014 67 A new range of knockers Security with climate control The latest product from the greenteQ range to be introduced into the British market by VBH is FG Senso, a matt brushed, stainless steel tilt and turn handle with in-built electronic alarm and climate control functions. The alarm function detects any vibration that may indicate an attempted break-in. The vibrations trigger a three minute 115db(A) alarm signal to deter would-be intruders. As soon as the handle is moved into the closed position, the alarm function is activated, without the need to enter a password or click a switch. The climate control function detects when the air humidity in a room exceeds a pre-set figure (50, 55 or 60%). The user is alerted, via two LED lights on the sides of the handle backplate, that it is advisable to open the window to ventilate the room for five – 10 minutes in order to prevent condensation and mould growth. More on greenteQ FG Senso can be downloaded from www.vbhgb.com or from the group’s dedicated greenteQ website at www.greenteq.info Blade as standard Pioneer Trading has announced that all its SynerJy and Signature window products from now on will be fitted as standard with the new Yale Blade security lock. The lock, with its unique rotating action, gives a window that is smooth and easy to operate, with a long life expectancy – tested to 30,000 operations – as well as high security specification, ease of installation and low maintenance. It also comes with a 12-year mechanical guarantee. According to Yale, the Blade is ‘a unique, fully retractable window lock, sitting flush within the Eurogroove, removing issues of cam clash and keep alignment.’ It also allows separate installation of the keep and lock prior to the hanging of the sash to deliver greater flexibility and efficiency during fabrication. The new addition comes as Pioneer is celebrating three years since the launch of its Signature Sash, which it claims is ‘Europe’s most energy efficient window’. Crystal Direct has developed new online pricing and ordering software which allows installers to quickly price and order jobs online, streamlining the ordering process without the need for paper quotes and order forms. The new software lets Crystal installers log in to a dedicated customer service section, where they can view previous jobs, see the progress of their orders and check delivery dates. Installers can also use the system to generate professional looking quotes for their customers. Crystal chairman, Martin Randall, said: “Ordering windows and doors is a long-winded process when you have to speak to a sales office and wait for order forms to be checked and signed off. Crystal’s new software really streamlines this process. Our customers can log on and get what they need in a few clicks. The software is compatible with iPads and tablets so installers can order what they want, when they want – even when they’re on the road!” www.crystal-direct.co.uk Production has begun at Elumatec’s German manufacturing facility of its new SBZ 137 profile machining centre, a compact four-axis profile model for working aluminium and PVC profiles. With its patented machine concept, the SBZ 137 features a machine table that is tilted towards the operator and a new, high-speed ring module. By tilting the machine table 30º, it can be loaded from an upright position, thus reducing potential back strain to the operator. The inclined bed gives the operator a clear view of the SBZ 137 in all machining positions and cleaning is faster, as swarf automatically falls off the inclined table and can be carried away by an optional conveyor. The ring module, which can run at a speed of up to 150m/min on the machine bed, substantially shortens operation times. The first SBZ 137s will be arriving in the UK this autumn. www.elumatec.co.uk BESTPRODUCTSOF2014 Sponsored by ERA: www.era-security.com New SBZ machine
