Fire rated systems European systems company, Aluprof, offers a comprehensive range of fire rated aluminium window, door and curtain walling systems. Aluprof says it has designed each of its fire rated products to ‘perfectly complement’ its standard systems. So for any part of any screen, window, door or curtain wall, aluminium framing can be fire rated and can still retain the slim sightlines of standard systems. Some solutions are unique to the industry and available only from Aluprof, such as the fire rated, silicon joint curtain wall system MB SR50NEI Efekt, tested to EI60 class. The company’s new brochure: ‘Fire Rated and Smoke Exhaust Systems’, explains BESTPRODUCTSOF2014 Sponsored by ERA : www.era-security.com in detail each product and rating. Aluprof systems offers some of the highest fire protection ratings in Europe, some reaching EI12 (two hours fire and smoke protection). Each system has been tested according to UK industry standards with various specialist glasses and all are fully covered by the UK's Certifire certificate of approval. www.aluprof.eu/en/ Packaging makeover The Geocel Trade Mate range has been given a makeover with new packaging that, according to Geocel, ‘makes it easy to choose the right product for the job every time’. Geocel has formulated the Trade Mates range of sealants and adhesives specifically for the professional tradesman, with a product for almost any roofing, decorating, glazing or plumbing application. The range has been updated with smart new packaging and point of sale material to make selection easier. Clear symbols make it easy to spot which products can be used where and the new packaging illustrates each product’s key properties – overpaintability, permanent flexibility, and acoustic rating for instance. Each of the 16 Geocel Trade Mate sealants, adhesives and sundries is formulated to be the reliable, trouble-free choice for tradesmen everywhere. The overhaul of existing facilities at the independent boys’ college in St Albans was designed by SADA architects, with main contractor, Quinn London, overseeing the construction process. Senior’s aluminium systems, which were installed by Essex based Glass and General, are said to bring a ‘high quality, modern and sophisticated’ finish to the project, which was valued at £2.7 million. Thermally enhanced, energy efficient SCW+ curtain walling systems from Senior were installed on the three elevations of the extension to bring what is described as an ‘elegant, open’ and ‘spacious’ feel to the school’s new sports changing areas, additional equipment storage facilities and teaching areas. SCW+ systems feature high-performance gaskets and can be fabricated into ladders for more efficient installation. The systems ensure daylight is maximised inside the school extension, and that the building is highly insulated. Meanwhile, Senior’s thermally broken SPW300 windows were installed at the three-storey extension, on King Harry Lane. www.seniorarchitectural.co.uk 2014 saw door and window hardware manufacturer, Hoppe (UK), launch new literature to support its stainless steel range of pull handles ‘The Stainless Steel Collection’. According to Hoppe, the company’s range of stainless steel hardware continues to be ‘very popular within the marketplace’, due to the high performance of stainless steel. Stainless steel is corrosion resistant because the alloy components, chromium and nickel, develop an invisible protective film. Hoppe brand fittings are manufactured from chrome-nickel-steel, as it is environmentally friendly and easy to maintain. The ‘sleek’ design of the new brochure showcases Hoppe’s high performance pull handles from each of the dura product ranges, but also contains information on the Hoppe brand values backing up the company’s products. Once the leads are generated, the software pushes them through to live orders on the Solidor CRM system, in a completely paperless environment. Through a dedicated trade log-in section on Solidor’s website, customers can obtain online quotes in real time and then place orders ‘at the click of a mouse’. The live order tracking facility can also be harnessed so customers can find out exactly where the orders are on the system, call up old jobs, order replacement parts and log any complaints or issues. Customers can also choose delivery dates and addresses and are notified of any out of stock issues. Recommended and Premium Installers can also upload new showroom images, update opening times and order marketing support. www.solidor.co.uk 68 December 2014
