Fabricator & Installer World TruFrame, the UK’s largest Liniar fabricator, has just launched an initiative to ‘highlight the merits of a better quality frame’. TruFrame employs a number of skilled technicians whose job it is to finish off each frame and sash ‘to the most exacting of standards’. It’s a four-step process, starting with the checking and refinishing of the corner contours, the levelling of the outside edges, ensuring uniformity of the corner grooves and the cleaning of all apertures for weldbuild up. It’s not only installers of the Liniar window and door systems that are looking for a better finished frame, but across the industry a number of companies 25 years with Ventrolla Period window specialist, Bryan Herbage, is celebrating a quarter of a century in business with Ventrolla. Raising a glass to mark the occasion, Bryan, who is based on the south coast, was the third person to join the Ventrolla network in 1989, six years after the renovation expert set up its headquarters in Harrogate. Describing Ventrolla as “an exciting brand to be a part of”, Brian said: “I work alongside my wife, who manages the accounts and admin and my 23 year old son who undertakes the installations. At Ventrolla there is a real family feel and culture.” Having previously worked for himself as a carpenter specialising in the renovation of period properties, Bryan believes the key to his success is his experience in the trade combined with his business knowledge. He added: “Business is back at its best and despite the recession, customer confidence has made a real comeback and we’re busier than ever. I truly believe in the Ventrolla products and have been privileged to work in some remarkable properties. The beauty of the system is that it works and it won’t let you down!” 76 December 2014 have made the switch, helping to increase manufacturing levels at the company to 3,000 frames per week. This hand finish is unique to TruFrame and covers all window and door styles with a PVC-U frame and sash, including the Liniar bifolding door system. This hand-finished process is also complimented by the way in which TruFrame uses precision endmilling for its 20mm external astragal bars. The same production methodologies also extend to its new flush sash window, which benefits from the Liniar Energy Plus range of profiles. The sculptured six-chambered frame is said to be highly energy efficient and is offered at a standard price without a premium. The company also carries out its own internal testing and development programme, which will see the launch of a number of exclusive products in 2015. www.truframe.co.uk IN THE PINK: Some very unusual outfits were on display at the Dempsey Dyer factory and offices recently, when the whole company ‘Wore it Pink’ to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness and Macmillan Cancer Support. The Dempsey Dyer staff raised £430 and the company matched this figure, making a grand total of £860. Peter Dyer said: “Breast Cancer Awareness and Macmillan Cancer Support are two excellent charities that make a real difference and we wanted to do our bit to support. I would like to thank all the Dempsey staff for all their generous donations and for their general enthusiasm during the day. There were some very interesting costumes and everyone was in good spirits – and it’s certainly the first time I have seen a window factory wearing pink!” Membership doubles in a year Network Veka reports that the UKAS-accredited Assure Competent Persons Scheme has doubled in size over the last year. The scheme, which is open to any installer, has grown rapidly as it continues to receive applications from installers looking to join their first competent persons scheme, or those who have become dissatisfied with their current operator. Austin Greene, technical and compliance manager for Network Veka's Assure, (pictured below) said: “Many new members have told us they had become unsatisfied with their existing competent persons scheme providers. “Here at Assure, we strive to make the whole process simple and straightforward which our installers really appreciate. “We offer all the training, seminars and advice you would expect to make sure everything runs smoothly for our installers. “At the rate we're growing, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Assure membership doubled again over the next 12 months!” A better finished frame
