The current staff of 278 has never had any experience with a Glaston furnace before. “They’ll find it to be different. Now, our operators have to wait for 20 to 30 seconds per bed. This is exactly the intelligence that we need to be able to reach our business goals.” Steve is especially eager to be able to go to the market with the actual quality data, thanks to the system’s ability to print out a quality assurance report for every glass that details roller wave, edge lift and the overall sizes of each glass processed.
