103 PRODUCTS & SER V I C E S Colour bank ‘keeps on growing’ TruFit ‘fits the bill’ New EcoSlide brochure www.ggpmag.com February 2017 Eurocell, the UK manufacturer, distributor and recycler of window, door, conservatory and roofline products, says it has reimagined the way designers and specifiers access its BIM models. The result is the BIM Centre, where finding and downloading the right BIM models is said to be a fast process, with updates delivered automatically. Users can sign up free to the BIM Centre in a matter of minutes and then use Eurocell’s new search and filter tool to find the models they need. Rather than downloading models one-byone, they all go into a ‘BIM basket’ to be downloaded en masse at the end of the process. The models downloaded by each user will also be stored in a personalised BIM Library for quick and easy access at a later date. And by signing up for automated updates, BIM Centre members will receive an email to let them know when models have changed. If specifiers can’t find the model they need, the BIM Centre has a simple ‘Request a BIM’ function which will be handled by Eurocell’s technical support team, on hand to help with queries. Eurocell head of marketing, Chris Coxon, said: “We know from talking to our customers that getting the right BIM models can sometimes be a frustrating and time-consuming experience. “The idea behind our BIM Centre was to make everything as hassle-free as possible, and to make sure that people always have access to the latest information.” www.eurocell.co.uk A new brochure has been published by Victorian Sliders which is aimed at UK homeowners and fully details the company’s best-selling EcoSlide PVC-U vertical sliding sash windows. Entitled ‘EcoSlide – putting the style and beauty back into your home’, the eight-page publication is A4 landscape in format with key illustrations picked out in ‘eye-catching spot UV varnish for greater impact’. The benefits of replacing original timber sash windows with modern low maintenance and high performance PVC-U equivalents are discussed, along with ease of operating the two sliding sashes for ventilation and the convenient tilt functionality for ease of cleaning from inside the building. Elevational window styles, foil and spray-painted colour options, privacy glasses, operating hardware choices and security features are all clearly explained. EcoSlide sash windows are ‘A’ rated as standard and a section explains window energy ratings in ‘plain and simple terms’ to build confidence amongst homeowners, who, according to Victorian Sliders, will be keen to enjoy a warmer, more comfortable home with energyefficient PVC-U sash windows. The Northamptonshire based installation company is the sister company of PVC-U fabricator Emplas and offers energy efficient windows, doors and conservatories to homeowners across the region. The company’s chief operations officer, Paul Woods, said: “At T&K Home Improvements, we like to be innovators in the market and TruFit fits the bill for us. “We needed an installation system that offered clean lines and dependable reliability that would outlast the guarantee on our Ecoplus range which has been developed using our own profile. “Traditional ‘wet’ sealants like expanding foam and silicone can fail after a period, but TruFit offers a completely dependable, energy efficient seal that maintains the high energy ratings of our windows. “It also offers customers a more cost effective alternative to triple glazing. Our Ecoplus range, installed with TruFit, offers a premium installation to homeowners, with the levels of thermal performance they are looking for, without the added cost of triple glazed units.” As part of Edgetech’s service, installation training using TruFit was provided to the fitting teams at T&K. www.edgetechig.co.uk RegaLead reports that around 75 new colours are being matched for customers at its Manchester based colour laboratory every week – meaning the bank of 12,000 ‘colour recipes’ keeps on growing. The Colour Laboratory is headed up by Bartosz Machyna, who is said to bring 15 years’ experience in colour matching. RegaLead’s joint MD, Guy Hubble, said: “We’re unique in two ways when it comes to paint: Firstly, we’re industry specialists rather than a generic paint manufacturer. Secondly, we design, manufacture, formulate and colour match our own paint. As well as investing in our paint manufacturing division, our colour laboratory launched last year, is the most advanced, specialist painting lab for the UK’s glass and fenestration markets. “With an investment approaching £100,000, the laboratory is equipped with the latest technology and equipment including a DataColour spectrophotometer, gloss meters, mini spray booth, daylight viewing cabinets and drying ovens for ceramic, in addition to a huge selection of charts and swatches from the most popular colour systems. “I invite anyone who would like a personalised tour of the colour lab to contact us on 0161 946 1164.” www.regalead.co.uk ‘BIM in a basket’ offers ‘hassle-free’ experience
