70 SPOTLIGHT A great year of growth GGP talks to Kurt Greatrex, sales director at Dekko Window Systems, about the company’s 2016 was an excellent year for Ashton-Under-Lyne based fabricator, Dekko Window Systems. Launching new products and expanding existing, already hugely successful lines, the business reported ‘significant growth’ in the last 12 months. Dekko’s sales director, Kurt Greatrex, puts this impressive growth down to the company’s longstanding Kurt Greatrex “We want to continue our upward trajectory – offering even more fantastic, boundary pushing products” commitment to investment: “We’ve been in our new 55,000ft² factory for just over a year now. We’ve been able to invest over £1m in new machinery in that time, and we’ve comprehensively re-assessed our manufacturing process. We’re not only producing better products than ever, we’re manufacturing them more quickly and efficiently than ever.” Premium products Among the most successful of Dekko’s new offerings in 2016 was Infinity – said to be a ‘gamechanging’ manufacturing technique that results in smooth corner joins on PVC-U windows and doors. Engineered using a state-of-the-art Graf welder machine, one of only a few operational in the UK, Infinity frames replace the unsightly diagonal corner grooves traditionally associated with PVC-U, with seamless timber-style joins. Infinity joins the hugely successful Räum range of aluminium bi-folding and slimline patio doors, described as balancing ‘sleek, contemporary design’ with ‘optimal functionality and practicality’. According to Dekko, Terassi patio doors offer unbeatable air and water tightness thanks to a lift and slide mechanism that creates a compressed seal. The Gleiten bifolding doors are PAS24 Secured By Design accredited for optimal security, offer air, wind and water resistance up to 600pa, and deliver smooth functionality with their highspecification steel rollers. Residence collection Dekko is said to be one of the UK’s largest suppliers of Residence 9, and has expanded its offering to include the new R7, R8 and R² products from Eclectic Systems. Residence 7 is made up of seven chambers with a depth of 75mm, while Residence 8 consists of eight chambers and an 85mm chamber depth. R² is a more contemporary, squarer window with nine chambers, and a depth of 100mm. All the windows come with a ‘U’ value of 0.7W/m²K and are available in both double and triple glazing. Inspiring Britain Dekko was included in the 2016 edition of the 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain report. Created by the London Stock Exchange, the report celebrates some of the fastestgrowing small and medium sized enterprises in the UK. To be included in the report, businesses needed to show growing revenue over the previous four years and to outperform their peers. Over the past four years, Dekko says it has grown from £6m to £11m turnover, while launching new products, investing in machinery and moving into new facilities. “It goes without saying – we’re really proud to be listed in the London Stock Exchange’s prestigious report,” Kurt added. “It’s been an incredible four years for us, in which we’ve been able to grow significantly by providing our customers with innovative, high-quality products that consumers love.” So, what’s next for Dekko? The fabricator is already planning several exciting projects for next year. “Our goal for 2017 is simple – we want it to be just as successful, if not even more so, than 2016 has been,” said Kurt. “We want to continue our upward trajectory – offering even more fantastic, boundary pushing products, competitive prices and industry-leading customer service. We’ve got some exciting plans up our sleeves – and we can’t wait to share them with our valued clients in the year ahead.” successes in 2016, and its plans for the future.
