GGP January 2015

Andrew Scott, managing director, Insight Data Richard Kirman, trade sales manager, IG Doors At the start of 2014, I was looking forward to the launch of our exciting new Truedor range to the trade, buoyed by the fact that we were about to enter a market sector which was clearly booming based on renewed consumer confidence. As we enter 2015, our focus at IG Doors is very much on continuing the amazing strides we have already made, with a range of exciting new developments for Truedor; but beyond that my fervent hope is that the composite door sector continues along the path it has been going down in recent years, being creative, innovative, and bringing products to market to encourage consumers to buy our products ahead of other home makeover products. If we all do our bit, the sector will grow as a whole, and as individual businesses we will all benefit. I wish everybody a happy and successful new year. I think 2015 will see some realignment. After several years of recession our industry experienced significant growth in 2014 which has fuelled confidence. We are seeing a new breed of entrepreneur emerge with the expertise and passion to shape the future of our industry and I think 2015 will see a string of mergers, acquisitions and new players enter the market. With confidence comes investment and right across the industry I am seeing companies develop ambitious plans for growth and investing in marketing, new people, and resources such as premises, machinery, transport and technology. 2015 will see some challenges too; investment and growth requires funding and strong cashflow. There is also a real skills shortage in our industry which could impact quality and service as well as push up wage costs. But overall, 2015 will be a year of growth for our industry. be replaced with the same system that was originally installed? The success of Residence 9 has shown that there is a market for alternative PVC-U systems. With the rise in marketing activity, we see fabricators and installers making more informed product choices and we have seen the evidence of this gaining new business from #ImAlrightJack, displaying how Window Widgets are leading the way on CE marking for baypoles, jacks and couplers. Trade counters have already seen significant growth and this looks set to continue and I believe we will see even more fabricators making the decision to offer additional window systems next year. 29 NEW YEAR MESSAGES “…and thanks to their expertise, we are succeeding in the commercial arena. ”
