• Veka Group has been
announced as Systems
Company of the Year in the
2018 National Fenestration
Awards.
Veka Group’s marketing
director, Dawn Stockell,
commented: “We’re delighted
to see Veka Group win
‘Systems Company of the Year’
in the 2018 NFAs because it
means our customers and
friends in the industry took the
time and made the effort to
vote for us.
“People vote on shortlists to
decide the winner for each
category, without the input of
a judge or panel, which means
the results really do re ect
the feelings of the individuals
in our industry. It’s lovely to
receive any award, but it’s
even better when you know
that it has come from those
whose opinions really matter
to Veka Group.

• Virtuoso Doors says that
it has laid the foundations
for a strong 2019 with the
announcement that it is on
target to achieve year on year
growth of over 50%, making
2018 the best year ever in the
rm’s 37-year history.
Virtuoso Doors’ record streak
has seen production rates
accelerate during the last 12
months – all culminating in the
company turning in a recordbreaking
month in October
where sales were more than
double those of October 2017.
Tony Craggs, MD, explained:
“2018 has been a historic year
for the business and we’re
incredibly proud of what we’ve
accomplished. Our recordbreaking
month eclipsed every
single other month in 37 years
of trading – it’s a genuine
highlight for us because it
shows our customers just what
we’re capable of.”
Sash window specialist, Roseview,
says that it is celebrating an
‘incredible’ summer of sales, and is
well on course for a record-breaking
2018-2019.
After record sales months through
the summer, the company claims
that it is now 15% ahead of where it
was this time last year. The fi rm has
benefi tted from rising demand for its
Rose Collection from both the trade
and commercial sectors.
“It’s hugely gratifying for us
that, even after all these years,
we’re still seeing new customers
discovering the outstanding
aesthetics, technical ingenuity
and unparalleled authenticity of
the Rose Collection,” commented
marketing manager, Mike Bygrave.
“But a signifi cant proportion of this
year’s sales growth has also come
from existing customers, and that’s
incredibly rewarding too. These are
Real Aluminium has said that it
will start 2019 on a high with the
announcement that its year to date
sales have grown by nearly 45%.
The three-year peak follows an
intense period of investment at
Real Aluminium, which included a
£250,000 development programme
to create an additional 23,000ft2
aluminium factory. Boosting
production space, the new facility
in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire,
is reported to have helped Real
ramp up production of its range of
aluminium windows and doors by
16% and bi-fold doors by 27%.
“2018 was a brilliant year for Real
Aluminium and we are absolutely
delighted to have broken all previous
records with these amazing fi gures
that have surpassed all industry
predictions,” said John Adams,
aluminium category director at
Real Aluminium. “The demand for
Real Aluminium has rocketed and
our recent round of investment,
particularly in our new factory,
means we can accommodate further
growth and help our customers to
seize the opportunities of this fastmoving
market.”
Real Aluminium says it will be
unveiling several new developments
in 2019. A number of major product
enhancements are in the pipeline
and Real also plans to lay on a series
of technical training days, which it
says are designed to help installers
build confi dence in aluminium and
learn how to avoid costly mistakes.

businesses who’ve been able to use
our products to win lucrative work in
the high-end market and grow as a
result. It’s a fantastic demonstration
of the benefi ts of partnering with
Roseview.
“We’ve implemented a whole
range of product improvements over
the last few years,” Mike continued.
“We’ve introduced aluminium
carrier bars as standard across
the range, for example. Whereas
previously we fi xed astragal bars to
the glass using tape and clips, we
now fi t discreet carrier bars, then
secure astragal bars onto them. It
makes our windows more secure,
and gives them a more even, regular
fi nish.”
Sliders UK has reported sustained
growth with record year-on-year
growth of as much as 45%, driven
by demand for aluminium and
growth in sales of composite doors.
According to the door specialist,
the average weekly increase in sales
for the year to date has been around
the 33% mark, also recording a
number of record highs, with weekly
year-on-year growth in excess of
45%.
“To have achieved average yearon
year growth of 33% in 2018
is a signifi cant achievement in
what remains a competitive and
challenging market,” said Steve
Mines, sales and marketing director,
Sliders UK.
“That doesn’t mean we have
always hit growth targets each and
every week, and there have certainly
been one or two weeks where, as
sales director I’ve been biting my
nails looking for those late Friday
afternoon orders.
“But averaged out over the year,
we’re on a very positive growth
trajectory, with our aluminium
portfolio and composite door ranges
driving sustained and increased
sales.”
