NEW YEAR MESSAGES

Following the success of
2019, 2020 looks set to
be another busy year
for Haffner Murat. 2019
saw us commission a major expansion
programme which involved our Staffordshire
headquarters doubling in size. This new facility provides a
quicker flow through of our machines along with a new area for
machinery testing, painting and quality control. The new site also
houses new offices and customer meeting facilities too.
We also unveiled our latest patented machine technology
Opti-Weld. Opti-Weld is a patented method of welding PVC-U,
aluminium and wooden frames and the technology can weld a
square in under two minutes in a range of materials.
It’s a real game-changer in fabrication and has attracted a lot of
interest since we showcased the new technology at FIT 2019.
We also announced that we now supply Fom Industrie
aluminium fabrication machinery offering our customers even
more choice.
Italy’s Fom Industrie is part of the worldwide FomGroup and
has an outstanding product offering. The scale of Fom means
they are able to keep a wide range of machines in stock at any
one time and there’s often a rapid deployment time, so customers
can be up and running quickly. As a result, sales have grown
steadily for the Fom machines, in particular the Adir C machining
centre which has been perfectly designed to add value to every
fabricator’s set up.
Turning to 2020, the Haffner Murat team have no plans to
stand still.
Opti-Weld technology will be available in 2020. In an industry
where lead times are vital, Opti-Weld is the difference the most
ambitious fabricators will want.
The upturn for aluminium products looks set to remain strong
in 2020 as forward orders for our range of aluminium machinery
confirms. Not only is our Fom Industrie range a popular choice
for fabricators but sales of our AL220/230 aluminium machining
centres continues to set the benchmark for the value automation
is able to deliver.
For PVC-U fabrication, sales of our SMR-5 welder are looking
good. The SMR-5 welder is the fastest and most accurate welder
on the market today and has been designed to add value to
every fabricator’s set up. It’s also capable of welding two corner/
transom/corner windows or one window and two sashes in a
single operation.
It can also weld five H welds in less than four minutes and
change from corners to transoms in seconds. It all adds up to a
machine that transforms speed and efficiency on the fabrication
floor.
In short, 2020 looks likely to be busy as businesses are already
turning to us to help improve their efficiency and support their
expansion plans.
2019 was a big year for ODL
Europe and our customers.
We showed once again how we
support ambitious businesses by giving
them the products they need to set themselves apart and achieve
their goals.
First of all, there was the launch of our innovative new Capstone
SecureDesign door slab that delivers above and beyond anything
else on the market, thanks to uncompromising standards of design,
build and quality that stand the test of time.
There was also the 6 Panel Combi Door that offers seven styles
from one slab, freeing up warehouse space and improving cash flow.
To sit alongside our market-leading Trisys cassette system, we
launched Zeel, a sleek, versatile, flush-profile glazing cassette that
blends seamlessly into the door allowing the door glass to take
centre stage. Packed with benefits for homeowners, fabricators and
installers, it’s the next generation of glazing cassettes.
2019 also saw the launch of our new in-house door prepping
facility, which covers everything from sizing the door on our beam
“e year sees the 75th anniversary of
our parent company, ODL. We’ll be
celebrating being part of a worldwide
business that’s been keeping its
sights on what’s ahead and taking
risks in order to grow and produce
innovative, quality products”
saw to a full prepped door service with or without edge banding.
It also includes door lock, letterplate and door hinge prep as well
as open in and open out options. It means that no matter what the
level of a customer’s set up, we can give them what they need.
And we invested in two new online portals for our Blink integral
blind and for composites doors, which makes quoting and ordering
quicker and easier for our customers.
But if 2019 was big, it will be nothing compared to 2020.
The year sees the 75th anniversary of our parent company, ODL.
We’ll be celebrating being part of a worldwide business that’s been
keeping its sights on what’s ahead and taking risks in order to grow
and produce innovative, quality products for its customers for three
quarters of a century.
We’ll be adding a further 15,000ft2 of manufacturing space at
our Bootle headquarters to increase capacity and help us drive
further efficiencies that will enable us to continue to deliver the
level of service our customers expect. And because we don’t believe
in resting on our laurels in any area of our business, we will be
launching further new products that raise the bar in composite door
design and help our customers grow their businesses.
