Record £4m
sales for ERG
Scotland
Retail installation business,
ERG Scotland, says that
it has broken through the
£4m annual sales barrier for
the rst time in its history,
marking the end of a bumper
rst year as part of the
Conservatory Outlet Network.
The Invergordon-based
business, headed up by
husband and wife duo,
Ian and Greer Joy, is said
to have been through an
intense year of restructuring
and repositioning following
a challenging 2018, and
says that it has now rmly
established itself as a
key player in the home
improvement sector across
the Highlands.
Having operated for over
40 years, ERG Scotland’s
directors made the decision
to join Conservatory Outlet’s
network of independent
retailers in December 2018.
The decision has proved
fruitful, with turnover rising
from just over £3m at the end
of 2018, to in excess of £4m
in 2019 with several weeks of
the year still remaining.
Reportedly faced with
challenging market conditions
impacted largely by Brexit
uncertainty, the sales team
at ERG have looked beyond
their previous experience to
embrace new techniques,
introduce an enhanced
product offering (including
the new Extreme uPVC range
from Conservatory Outlet),
and launched a multi-channel
digital marketing campaign to
boost enquiries.
MD, Ian Joy, said: “The
success we’ve achieved this
year is testament to the hard
work, tenacity and dedication
of our fabulous team.”
SEH BAC, the award-winning home
improvement specialist, marked
the end of a successful 2019 with a
win at the inaugural Conservatory
& Orangery Awards, following
the completion of a complex
conservatory renovation project.
Ipswich-based SEH BAC, which
specialises in windows, doors and
conservatories, saw off competition
from across the country to win
Installation of the Year (up to £35k).
The award was part of a full range
of prizes designed to celebrate and
promote excellence in conservatory
design and build.
The installation in question saw
SEH BAC convert an old, ineffi cient
conservatory into an all-year-round
living space. To do so, the team
at SEH BAC replaced the existing
windows and doors, and swapped
the tired and leaky polycarbonate
roof for a fully-insulated tiled roof,
using the UltraRoof system from
Ultraframe.
John Savage, managing director
at SEH BAC, commented: “We are
absolutely thrilled to win such
a sought-after prize at the recent
C&O Awards. We faced really tough
competition from across the UK,
but I’m proud to say that the talents
and expertise of our dedicated
team helped us to once again stand
out from our local and national
competitors.
“With the size and scale of this
large p-shaped conservatory, this
was certainly a complex installation.
Our team had to overcome a number
of challenges with the conservatory
and the overall property to complete
the project. However, they did a
tremendous job and the response
from our customer has been
fantastic.
“We must congratulate our
talented team as it’s their hard
work, dedication and consistently
high standards that help us win
these prestigious awards. We also
must thank our supply partner,
Ultraframe, for their continued
support and their help throughout
this particular project.”
The award win was part of a busy
year for the Ipswich-based home
improvement company. Along with
new product developments and new
staff, SEH BAC continued to invest,
upgrading both its operation and
many of its showcentres across the
region. SEH BAC was also named
Company of the Year (South-
East) by the Master Window and
Conservatory Installers Association
(MWCIA) in 2019 – the second time
in three years.
The fi rm, which was named
Installer of the Year at the G17
Awards, operates across the South-
East, East Anglia and the Home
Counties. With almost fi ve decades
in business, SEH BAC is part of One
Group Construction, a £160 million
group of companies that complete
major construction and civil
engineering projects across the UK.
