Heritage style
in demand for
new build
Masterframe has reported
a boom in new-build
developments specifying
Heritage Collection sliding
sash windows.
“It’s all about the symmetry,”
says Richard Howe,
national sales manager at
Masterframe. “Georgian
architects famously used
symmetrical designs and
multi-pane windows, whilst
Victorian homes often
feature bay and sliding
sash windows – all features
which are still popular trends
with homeowners. The big
problem is that there just
aren’t enough original 18th
and 19th century homes to
go around, and the ones that
are still structurally sound,
usually come with quite a
signi cant price tag.
“This doesn’t stop property
buyers wanting traditional
style though, so we are
seeing lots of new-build
developers building homes
that replicate the symmetrical
design cues from these
eras. The new speci cation
Heritage Collection is the
perfect option for them,
as they deliver on style
and performance as well
as carrying the right
accreditations and standard
for the newbuild market.”
Heritage Collection has
recently been relaunched
alongside the Authentic and
Vintage Collections with a
higher spec demanded by
the new-build sector. The
windows have Timberweld
joints – the unique patented
method of construction that
produces traditional timber
style butt joints both on the
inside and the outside of the
window as standard.
Award winning commercial installer,
The Window Company (Contracts),
proudly boasts that it has the best
trained workforce in the industry,
with a comprehensive individual
training plan in place for every
member of its team.
So determined is it to set the very
highest installation standards in the
industry that it has put together a
CPD for clients to help them get the
most from every window and door
installer they work with.
The fi rst client to benefi t from the
CPD was Moat, which is partnered
with The Window Company
(Contracts) on the window and
door replacement framework for its
properties across Essex, London,
Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Moat sent
a team to The Window Company
(Contracts)’ Chelmsford premises
recently to try out the CPD for
themselves.
Moat project managers and clerks
of works took part in a workshop
to learn about the latest regulations
and best practice guidelines
governing window and door
installation. They were then given a
window and door set up created by

CWG Choices, one of the UK’s
largest manufacturers of PVC-U
windows and doors, has just signed
an exclusive fi ve-year deal with
Profi ne UK, for the supply of a wide
range of Kömmerling window and
door systems.
It’s an agreement that provides
Profi ne and their Kömmerling
brand with an exclusive supply
of windows and doors to the
Aldridge manufacturing facility of
CWG. This factory is also set for
further expansion thanks to a large
investment in the infrastructure
and in machine capacity. CWG
Choices have been working with
Kömmerling as their profi le partner
since July 2004.
This agreement further cements
the partnership between the
two companies for the supply of
Kömmerling 70 and the PremiLine
patio door, as managing director
of CWG Choices, Chris Powell
explained. He said: “We’re delighted
to formally announce the extension
of our partnership for another fi ve
years and we’re actively looking
to expand our production of
Kömmerling with additional
investment in manufacturing
technology and plant equipment.
It’s a special relationship we have
with Gareth and the team and we’re
all looking forward to reaping the
rewards of this partnership further.”
Gareth Jones, managing director
of Profi ne UK and the Kömmerling
brand added: “We’ve had a
wonderful year with the FIT Show,
two industry awards, yet the signing
of a fi ve-year partnership with CWG
Choices is something quite special.”
deliberately included and were
challenged to identify them all.
The feedback on the event was
said to be very positive, with
Moat welcoming the opportunity
to understand more about the
updated regulations on installation
and be better informed about the
issues which can lead to expensive
snagging and lower resident
satisfaction. In fact, they thought
the CPD was so useful that they
have asked The Window Company
(Contracts) to run a repeat session
for additional staff early in 2020.
Mark Crane, The Window
Company (Contracts)’ commercial
director, commented: “We have
no concerns about our own
performance for Moat, where we
have completed more than 1,000
properties and resident feedback
is so exceptional that average KPI
scores on the project are currently
running at 9.8/10. However, we
always believe in going above and
beyond what our clients expect so
the CPD has been introduced to add
an extra dimension to our service.”
