Dekko Window Systems is
celebrating the success of a recent
Residence Collection open day.
The Dekko team recently took
over the Residence Collection
showrooms in Gloucester to give
installers in the area an informal
introduction to the timber-effect
range.
The event is said to have generated
a positive turnout from both local
installers and home improvement
companies, with ‘considerable
interest’ surrounding Residence²,
Residence 7 and the marquee
Residence 9.
In addition to product displays
and demonstrations, the event
provided an opportunity for
installers to quiz teams from both
Dekko and Residence, and ask any
questions. Break-out sessions took
place throughout the day covering
all things technical, surveying
and installation. There was also a
masterclass from Sarah Hitchings,
sales and marketing director at
Residence.
Kurt Greatrex, sales director
at Dekko, commented: “We’re
absolutely delighted with the
positive response to our recent
open day. As one of the UK’s largest
Residence fabricators, we saw it as
a fantastic opportunity to really
showcase this valuable range and
buoyant market to a new group of
ambitious installers.
“It was also a tremendous
opportunity to highlight the
valuable proposition Dekko offers
as a nationwide supplier, an early
adopter of Residence and the
only fabricator with a dedicated
manufacturing space and team for
Residence products.”
CMS Window Systems has been
recognised for the long term
contribution it has made to
Scotland’s sustainable development
by being named the winner of the
Best of VIBES Award.
This special award featured in
the 2019 programme to celebrate
the 20th year of the VIBES Awards,
with 10 previous winners including
CMS shortlisted for a public vote.
The awards programme for Scottish
businesses aims to encourage
the efficient use of resources,
enhance competitiveness, improve
environmental performance
and support the wider goals of
sustainable development, including
social benefits through community
and staff involvement.
CMS is a previous winner of two
VIBES awards in 2009 and 2015,
but this year’s accolade is said to be
particularly special for the company
as it recognises the organisation that
can best demonstrate its continuous
improvement and contribution to
Scotland’s sustainable development.
It is a win that reflects the ongoing
progress that CMS is making on
its path to being a net zero carbon
business – this is illustrated by
its success in eliminating landfill
waste for the last two years, the
commissioning of its first electric
vans and the implementation of its
biodiversity programme to protect
and enhance the environment
around its sites.
David Ritchie, CEO at CMS
Window Systems, said: “We’re
thrilled to win the Best of VIBES
Award and would like to thank
everyone who voted for us from a
shortlist packed with businesses
who are making a tremendous
contribution to Scotland’s sustainable
development.”
Veka UK demonstrated the
company’s pride in its Lancashire
roots once again, by marking
Lancashire Day and Lancashire
Business Day in style.
As an official patron for
Lancashire Business Day 2019,
November 27 saw Veka join
other proud regional businesses
in celebrating all the heritage,
innovation and opportunity that
Lancashire is known for.
MD, Dave Jones, said: “The ‘Red
Rose’ county is a phenomenal place
to live and work, and Lancashire
Business Day gave us yet another
opportunity to sing its praises.
“Here at Veka, we raised the
Lancashire flag in place of our
usual Veka diamond and we had a
company-wide Lancashire-themed
‘bake off ’ with all proceeds going
to MIND, our nominated charity
for the year. The winning cake was
presented as a hot pot – and you
can’t get much more Lancastrian
than that!
“Throughout the day, staff
members took part in events and
discussions across the county,
including the Patron’s ‘Round Table’
at Samlesbury Hall, where our
marketing director, Dawn Stockell,
represented Veka UK. The group
discussed Lancashire’s many worldclass
qualities and its ‘powerhouse’
status, as well as considering ways
that we might come together with
a single voice and mission to best
promote the County.
“I joined the audience at Holmes
Mill where Lancashire’s county-wide
bid for ‘UK City of Culture 2025’
was announced. This is the first
bid of its kind; an exciting, more
inclusive prospect, highlighting the
combination of Lancashire’s rural
beauty, coastal communities and
glittering cities, rather than having a
single urban focus.
“The day culminated in the
Lancashire Business Day Event held
at one of Burnley’s newest premier
venues, the Crow Wood Hotel.”
Patiomaster dealer for the West
Midlands, Framexpress, has created
an express colour service to deliver
Patiomaster doors in 10 standard
colour options in just five days.
Mark Westbrook, director at
Framexpress, said: “For many
installation companies, they have no
problem getting coloured windows
fast, but getting a matching patio
door on the same timescale proves
tricky.
“This affects their scheduling and
can delay large projects such as full
house double glazing replacements
and extensions, just because they
can’t get their coloured door in good
time.
“The solution was simple for
us. Deliver coloured Patiomaster
doors on the same leadtimes as
our Optima coloured windows. We
offer the same 10 standard colours
in just five days, so installers can
turnaround projects faster.”
Framexpress already offers
48-hour delivery on white window
and Patiomaster options, as well as
4-hour quotes, friendly technical
support and a late-night estimating
service.
