PROFI L E S & SYS T EMS
There can be little doubt that the
Covid- pandemic has confronted
all businesses with an unprecedented
level of uncertainty. After all, who ever
imagined preparing for a global pandemic would
be necessary, let alone the aftermath we are all
now facing. And with more challenges ahead, we
all have to learn and adapt to our ‘new normal’
Businesses that recognise when the recovery
will come and what the landscape will look like will
be ahead of the curve and offer a better chance
of surviving in the new normality. And to be able
to achieve this, they will need strength, stability
and resilience. Epwin Window Systems has always
been committed to continuous investment in its
business. Staying at the forefront of the industry
helps our customers when times are good and
more importantly, it helps them when times are
more challenging too.
We continue to support our customers across
all market sectors by delivering a choice of
award-winning systems backed up with services
and support that gives them a clear competitive
From a product point of view, there’s our
double G Award-winning aluminium window
and door system, Stellar, that set a new standard
for the industry when it was launched last year.
We also have our three market-leading PVC-U
, Spectus and Swish along
with our specialist door brand, PatioMaster. Our
multi-system strategy gives our customers a clear
point of differentiation and delivers an extensive
portfolio that helps develop target markets and
supports current product trends.
We are also helping our customers add value
to the sale with our new expanded colour offer.
The new colour offering has been designed to
deliver exactly what our customers need – making
the most popular colour profiles available on
their next delivery schedule as well as introducing
new shades that look set to be the next trends
in colour. With 6 fast track colours, made
to order options and five complementary base
colours, it’s an impressive offer to support the
growing trend for coloured products.
As well as delivering the widest variety of
systems, we also make investments behind
the scenes to ensure the continuing strength,
resilience and reliability of our business.
We are expanding our warehouse and
distribution capability to meet growing demand
for our products. Our new ,ft2 warehouse
and distribution centre consolidates all our
existing warehousing facilities into a single
operation and has the capacity to hold over ,
It harnesses the latest technology to optimise
efficiency at every level so we continue to be
a forward-thinking, reliable partner for our
customers. For example, we have invested in seven
bespoke MSU 6 sideloaders from Hubtex, one
of the world’s leading manufacturers of bespoke
manual handling equipment.
The sideloaders were designed for us by
Hubtex’s engineers to give us exactly what we
need. They mean we only handle a product once,
rather than multiple times, which will transform
productivity and efficiency for the business. And
while we made the investment for the long term,
there is no doubt they will be hugely beneficial in
the short term too as we adjust to working in this
changed landscape. They are operated by a single
operator working on a platform at a safe distance
from other colleagues, helping us to maintain
social distancing on the warehouse floor.
Like every employer, we are having to take
numerous other steps to ensure our workers
are safe. We have completed rigorous risk
assessments in every area of the business and
introduced protocols to protect our people. Every
member of staff is taken through a thorough signoff
process when they return to work and clear
signage across our sites reinforces the messaging.
All these protocols are constantly being reviewed
as our workforce continues a phased return to
work in line with business demand.
The measures not only protect the most
important part of our operation – our people
– they also support our customers. Because it
means that we are able to keep our business
moving to support them.
The Covid- pandemic has changed – and
will continue to change – the world. But amid all
the change, I think two things will hold true. It will
be important to work with businesses that focus
on continuous investment because they will have
valuable strength, stability and resilience.
And it will be important to offer exceptional
products that offer a clear competitive advantage.
Those are just two areas in which Epwin Window
