A glazed extension for a home
office? It’s a GEM of an idea!
Office based staff could benefit from flexible attendance at the workplace long
after things return to normal, post Covid-. Neville Gleed, operations director at
Abcell, talks about how this is likely to have a positive impact for our industry…
As two major firms announce they will
allow staff to continue operating from
home even after the Covid- pandemic,
and with others expected to follow,
a considerable shift away from normal working
practice is likely to lead to an increase in demand for
Accounting company PriceWaterhouseCoopers
and Schroders, the FTSE- listed fund manager,
are making significant changes to allow office
attendance flexibility for staff. Broker Numis has
told staff that there won’t be a return to five-daysa
week in the office, while Standard Life Aberdeen
and NatWest Group workers will remain remote
until the end of at least.
For anyone who suddenly found themselves
operating from a cramped spare room or on the
kitchen table, thoughts will be turning to how they
can adapt and expand their homes for a better
working environment in the long term.
THE GLAZED EXTENSION FRONTIER
The obvious answer to this need for more space
is a glazed extension and I fully expect installers
to be heavily in demand to meet this increasing
requirement. Key to successfully meeting customer
needs is to find a fabricator who is not only an
expert in the sector but manufactures everything
you need and is able to offer outstanding marketing
support. Abcell are the ‘Glazed Extension
Merchants’, GEM for short, and offer a -carat
service to the trade with a full spectrum of glass
conservatory roofs, solid roofs, lanterns and sky
lights, as well as aluminium windows, bi-folds and
patio doors. Plus, the marketing support needed to
sell the dream.
We are the UK’s largest trade manufacturer of
both the Guardian Warm Roof and WarmCore,
while also fabricating leading roof, window, and
door system brands Ultraframe, AluK and Stratus
Lanterns. Not only does that make us perfect for
installers looking to find everything they need from
one supplier, but the collective know-how that we
have at Abcell is priceless as we are able to offer
expert advice and guidance with any tricky projects
that they might have.
MAKING MARKETING EASIER
Another side effect of the pandemic is the way
that installers sell home improvements, with the
opportunity for home visits becoming more limited.
We recently launched our customer support portal,
bringing together a wide range of exciting marketing
from our brand partners to give our customers
practical tools to secure more online sales.
This new resource contains a wide range of
homeowner brochures and lead generation
marketing that can be personalised with customers’
own logos, address and contact details. It also
includes a variety of instructional and technical
information from Abcell’s suppliers.
A PRECIOUS GEM FOR BUSY INSTALLERS
So, with more people expected to be working from
home, and looking for a comfortable area to do so
that will enhance their living space and improve the
value of their property, installers are going to be very
busy for the foreseeable future.
As they search for a fabricator that can service all
their requirements to fulfil busy order books, they
won’t need to try to find a ‘diamond in the rough’ –
for a real precious GEM they can simply get in touch
with Abcell – the Glazed Extension Merchant.
