Senior contributes to seafront development

Senior Architectural Systems has contributed to new residential apartment scheme in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The project’s Art Deco design features Senior’s aluminium fenestration package.

The main entrance to the development features Senior’s aluminium Pure commercial doors. The ‘waves’ of the white-concrete-framed building have been accentuated by the curved installation of Senior’s SF52 aluminium curtain wall system. Contributing to a more energy-efficient building envelope, all of Senior’s aluminium windows and doors have met the new lower U-value targets of Part L of the building regulations.

Senior’s patented Pure tilt-and turn aluminium windows, along with Pure Slide aluminium doors were installed to provide access to outdoor terraces. The thermal efficiency achieved by Senior’s Pure aluminium system has been enhanced by triple glazing, the business reported. Senior’s aluminium fenestration systems were powder-coated in marine-grade matt black to offer additional protection from the elements.

The installation of aluminium brise soleil, also powder-coated to match the aluminium windows, aims to offer solar shading and protection against solar gain. Designed by LAP Architects and built by Cura Construction, all of Senior’s aluminium fenestration solutions were fabricated and installed by supply chain partner Glass & General.
