LED lighting has been installed across Carl F Groupco’s Peterborough warehouse, along with motion sensors that will further increase energy savings.

The advancement is the latest initiative by the hardware distributor to minimise impact on the environment. At the hub of Carl F Groupco’s business, working to meet the company’s On Time In Full delivery ethos supplying over 7,000 product lines, the warehouse was identified as a key area to enhance environmental efficiency.

Representing an investment of over £20,000, the hardware distributor’s environmental initiative has been supported by an EU Energy Efficiency grant which was achieved with assistance from the Business Energy Efficiency Cambridge and Peterborough Programme.

The new warehouse lighting will reportedly reduce the company’s CO2 from 34.84 tonnes to 6.92 tonnes per annum, a saving of 68,156kWh. According to Carl F Groupco, this is equivalent to the energy required to charge over six million Smart phones.
