Leaders of the Window Company (Contracts) have appointed Katie Balmford as accounts assistant for the the specialist commercial installer. Katie has more than 20 years’ experience working in administration and accounts, and an NVQ2 in business administration. Leaders of the business have described her as a valuable new addition to the team.
The role sees Katie processing invoices, preparing month end reports and generally providing support to Rachel Petre, the company’s director of finance. “The finance team needs to grow to keep pace with our new business and ensure we can maintain the levels of efficiency which have always been our trademark,” explained Rachel. “We’re delighted to welcome Katie on board.”
The Window Company (Contracts) has grown significantly in recent years, its representative has reported, buoyed by ongoing window and door replacement contracts with some of London and the south east’s largest social housing providers, as well as substantial new contract wins in the new build housing sector. The business is also set to become a major player in the housing decarbonisation sector, the firm’s representative went on to say, thanks to the business holding the PAS2030 accreditation which is required to work on government-funded retrofit energy efficiency schemes.
The Window Company (Contracts) was awarded a highly commended prize as in the ‘Best Installation Commercial’ category of GGP’s Installer Awards 2023, which took place last month at the Midland Hotel, Manchester. The award was granted for a window and door replacement project for a primary school, in which the Window Company (Contracts) team reused elements of the original timber entrance to minimise waste and improve sustainability. In doing so, the team was able to retain the mahogany uprights and fit new windows and doors around them.
