Non-executive chair joins Brisant Secure

Tony Clarkson has joined the hardware house Brisant Secure’s board as non-executive chair. Tony is internationally known in the construction sector as well as in other industries.

With a strong background in highly engineered products, Tony has successfully led and grown businesses in building products, automotive components and oil and petrochemical-related industries, targeting a global marketplace. He has managed business operations in Europe, North America, the Middle East and China. As MD and major shareholder of Pegler, an international heating, ventilating, and plumbing products business, he significantly grew sales and profits through rapid product development, resulting in a tripling of business value. Since 2008 he has chaired a succession of businesses in kitchens, bathrooms, air conditioning, roller shutter doors and lighting systems.

“Brisant is a great business. I was immediately impressed by the quality and integrity of its product range and the hard-working entrepreneurial spirit of its people,” said Tony. “I’ve always been keen on products and product development, and Brisant has an impressive track record and ongoing commitment to continually developing its range into the future. It’s deservedly a fast growing business and I’m really looking forward to helping that continue over the coming years.”

The first half of 2021 has seen Brisant assemble three key elements of its future growth strategy, of which Tony’s appointment is the third. The first was achieved when Brisant secured a milestone investment from the British Growth Fund (BGF), and Seb Saywood, a BGF investor, joined the Brisant board as a non-executive director. Then Brisant recruited Clive Burnett, a highly experienced finance director from outside the industry, with a 20-year track record of supporting organic growth.

As one of Britain’s fastest growing businesses, Brisant Secure was featured in the annual Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100, for the second consecutive time this year. Its growth has been driven by two things: one is a series of innovative products that have reportedly ‘overturned industry standards and transformed expectations for security, looks and corrosion resistance’; second, it boast ‘outstandingly effective marketing’.

Nick Dutton, CEO of Brisant Secure, said: “We’re delighted to have Tony as our chairman. He has the knowledge, expertise, and experience to help us avoid or overcome the inevitable challenges and obstacles in our path to enable Brisant Secure to become a leading hardware house. He’s a very good fit.”

Brisant Secure has been raising standards in the door industry since 2013, with its ultra-secure Ultion family of locks and Sweet, its suite of beautiful corrosion resistant hardware. Discover more at www.brisant-secure.com, call 01924 410 200 or email contact@brisant-secure.com.
