Doorbuilder goes direct

apeerApeer’s design and order software system for retailers now features a direct-to-factory order link.

Doorbuilder Direct, as the updated system is called, has been successfully trialled with customers and is now available for download. Apeer marketing manager, Linda Tomb, said: “We’ve seen a phenomenal take-up rate for the updated system – within just a few days of launching Doorbuilder Direct, 43% of our order intake was going direct to the factory. Our IT department is contacting customers to talk them through what to do and in some cases, even doing it for them remotely.”

As well as the new direct-to-factory order link, the updated programme also features:

• All size updates
• An automatic restriction on bar pull handles for some Apeer 44 and 70 designs
• A display of the available thresholds when sizes are entered
• An alert message facility for top/arch with coupling

An order cloning facility has also been added along with other general fixes and improvements.

Cary Hindman of Turkington Windows in Portadown said: “We’ve been using Doorbuilder system as a sales and presentation tool for a number of years now.

,Being able to transfer that information directly to the Apeer factory was the next logical step. We’ve been using the system in this way for a number of weeks now and it has actually been very straightforward. It saves us time and with the system ‘safeguards’ and updates now in place, it reduces errors and improves efficiency.”

Doorbuilder Direct was featured on the Apeer stand at Grand Designs Live, Birmingham NEC (October 9 – 12) where the company showcased designs from its contemporary MODO collection, along with two more traditional doors and its popular stable door.

The stand also featured a ‘wall of colour’ showing Apeer’s range of 24 readily available fashionable colours.

Linda Tomb said: “The exhibition provided the perfect platform to raise brand awareness with consumers, as well as strengthen relationships with key Midlands customers.

“We saw a huge amount of people during what was a very busy and successful show for us. People really liked and appreciated what we had to offer and the event gave us the opportunity to talk them through all the many other benefits in terms of security and performance.”
