Meridian composite is ‘doorway to a greener future’

Phoenix Doors has unveiled its new, high performance 70mm rebated composite door range, ‘Meridian’, billed as a ‘doorway to a greener future’.

Described as a ‘game-changing, luxury product’, Phoenix claims this new addition will help installers meet today’s consumer demands and take full advantage of the premium composite door market.

Offering the highest specifications in security and ‘A’ rated thermal efficiency, the 70mm double-rebated door with triple weatherseals and 50mm triple glazing is said to deliver outstanding weather, energy and acoustic performance. In addition, the Meridian range is manufactured to achieve Secured by Design as standard.

“We are extremely proud of the newest, premium addition to our comprehensive composite door range; the Meridian is a truly niche product for discerning homeowners, which in turn, creates exciting market opportunities for our customers,” said Haydon Statham, Phoenix Doors’ sales director. “With outstanding performance in all areas, the Meridian door ticks all the boxes for installers and consumers alike.”

Taking its name from the Meridian Wood, located next to the Phoenix door manufacturing facility at Bluntisham, the new range is being promoted as a ‘doorway to a greener future’. With a ‘U’ value as low as 1.0, the Meridian door is specifically designed to champion sustainability and efficiency ‘without compromising the natural environment’ by using the latest modern materials and manufacturing techniques.

To further underpin the Meridian door’s credentials, tests have shown it is 19% more thermally efficient than a 48mm solid timber core composite door and 17% more thermally efficient than a 44mm traditional timber panelled door.

Demonstrating its commitment to the environment and sustainability, Phoenix Doors has pledged its on-going support of Meridian Wood through the Woodland Trust and has sponsored a tree-planting scheme at the site to help ‘preserve and protect’ it for future generations to enjoy.

Alongside broadening choice for customers, an added benefit of the Meridian door is ease of installation, as Haydon explains: “Because double-rebate doors are easier to install and adjust on site compared to single-rebate doors, fitters will also love them. The double rebate allows for greater tolerances in movement between the door leaf and frame during installation – similar to installing a PVC panel door.”

The Meridian collection includes nine styles, all named after tree types and features both traditional and contemporary designs with five new and exclusive glazing options. Available in a palette of stylish new heritage colour finishes including French grey, duck egg and Chartwell green, plus bright solid colours like ‘very berry’. Furthermore, the recent launch of Phoenix’s in-house paint spraying facility, catering for any specified RAL colour, means that the personalisation options of Meridian are virtually limitless!

To support the official June launch of this exciting new door range, Phoenix has produced a premium consumer brochure, dedicated Meridian point-of-sale material and a fully-responsive consumer website.
