Origin launches residential door

Residential Door 4

Origin has unveiled the Origin residential door – where, it says, ‘security and aesthetics are innovatively combined’. Available in the UK to trade from 1 September 2016, or consumers from 1 October, the Origin residential door can either be used as a front or garage door for an integrated front of house look.

Manufactured with a high-grade aluminium, there are 35 panel choices on offer, available in over 150 different RAL shades.

Ben Brocklesby, Origin’s sales and marketing director, said: “Innovation is engrained within the Origin culture, and the new residential door is no exception. There is always a way to make something work better, and our in-house R&D department has worked relentlessly to engineer the Origin Residential Door. It’s been a challenge to keep the new product under wraps, but now the idea is a reality, we are absolutely delighted.”

Sharing some of the same technology as the Origin bi-fold door and windows, the residential door is said to enable a ‘truly cohesive’ look, inside and out. Available in a huge range of styles, it allows homeowners to create the perfect ‘statement door’.

Available as a front door (either as a single or French Door) or a garage door (French Door), means that homeowners can achieve a complete front of house integrated look, with the best in style, security as well as performance.

When used as a garage door, it can be specified with no threshold for seamless access inside and out. With three threshold options available – weathered, non-weathered, or the specifically designed mobility threshold, standing at just 20mm when the doors are open, the door is said to be ideal for disabled access, internal use for porches or flats, or exterior doors that aren’t highly exposed to the elements.

With over 35 panel choices, ranging from traditional to ‘ultra-modern’, there is a style guaranteed to suit any property. In addition, the Origin residential door has been expertly engineered for optimum energy efficiency, with both the frame and sash featuring an advanced polyamide break to limit heat transfer from the interior to the exterior, whilst the panel is manufactured with a highly efficient Thermimax core and aluminium layers for optimum thermal performance.

Designed ‘with heightened security at the forefront’ from the locks and barrels, through to the hinge design and aluminium composition, all combine to make for an ultra-secure system.

Two different locking systems are available; a five-point multipoint lock, or Origin’s eight-point multipoint locking system, with an offset spindle function for complete security performance.

As with all Origin products, the Origin residential door is said to be ‘completely bespoke’, meeting the highest standards of style, security and craftsmanship.
