Bohle has launched a clear adhesive bonding tape called Duplocoll which is said to be fast, clean and easy to apply. Duplocoll is perfect for applications such as all-glass partition walls, furniture and shower cubicles. It works with a range of materials such as wood, aluminium, plastic, ceramic or glass and because it has a refractive index almost identical to glass it is virtually transparent. Supplied in 12m rolls, in three widths; 5mm, 7mm and 9mm, for glass thicknesses ranging from 8mm to 12.76mm; Duplocoll is resistant to ageing and UV radiation and does not impact on the appearance of the installation.
Duplocoll not only bonds, it also reportedly seals, damps, isolates and protects glass-to-glass joints, easily compensating for manufacturing or installation tolerances and tensions. It is also anti-microbial and resistant to chemicals and softeners. The viscoelastic adhesive film distributes uniformly across rough surfaces and is highly resistant to splitting. Glass-to-glass installation is made even easier with the optional Bohle applicator tools, which are designed to apply Duplocoll at just the right pressure over a range of standard glass thicknesses.
