When Emplas, one of the UK’s leading window and door fabricators, began its search for a new hardware partner to support its established range of PVCu doors and composite doors, it wasn’t long before they turned to home security and fenestration experts, ERA, to get the project off the ground.

Having worked with ERA on a variety of bespoke hardware development projects in the past, Emplas was already aware of the West Midlands-based manufacturer’s reputation for reliability, its sustainability commitment, and most notably, its product quality.

With over 45 years’ experience of supplying high-performance doors to trade customers, family-run Emplas knew exactly what to look for when specifying hardware that its installers and their end-customers will love.

While product performance was always a top priority, Northamptonshire-based Emplas quickly began to see that ERA’s commitment extended beyond this, encompassing comprehensive and bespoke marketing support, hands-on collaborative input, sustainable packaging solutions, and strong communication – not to mention industry-leading performance guarantees.

Emplas selected ERA’s Fab&Fix Classic range to fit as standard on a variety of its door ranges, thanks to its renowned quality and durability, and the array of finishes available to customers.

Emplas specified seven colours across a variety of Fab&Fix hardware, from Nu Mail letterplates and Balmoral door handles, to knockers and numerals, giving the modern consumer extensive choice.

Emplas was also impressed by one particular benefit of partnering with ERA and commissioning its Fab&Fix range – a guarantee against mechanical and weather degradation for up to 10 years.

So, with the decision made and the project confirmed, a date of January 2025 was decided on for the official launch of the partnership. And, from those early planning stages to today, ERA has worked in close collaboration with Emplas across a variety of departments to ensure that Emplas’ adoption of the Fab&Fix range runs smoothly and that any feedback is addressed quickly and efficiently.

Emplas has been pleased with the ERA team’s technical abilities and customer service, as well as the level of marketing support offered in preparation for the roll-out of the new products.

ERA has equipped the Emplas sales team and its installers with informative and eye-catching marketing materials to raise awareness of the new partnership and promote the benefits of the new hardware offering.

Complete with Emplas branding, the bespoke marketing support package has included showroom posters, display boards, leaflets, colour swatches, and access to an extensive digital image library for Emplas’ Marketing team.

Emplas’ positive experience isn’t just limited to ERA’s marketing investment, as Jody Vincent, Sales Director at Emplas, comments: “The feedback from our sales team has been promising, and the response from our installers has also been positive. They have been particularly happy with the quality of the product, the colour choice, and the 10-year guarantee.

“As a result, they are confident that both the doors and hardware they are installing for customers will stand the test of time, which, of course, is hugely important to us all.”

Jody continues: “Product quality was the key factor in our decision to work with ERA and commission its Fab&Fix range. However, since our project began, we’ve been impressed with its customer service too.

“This was a huge project for Emplas, involving experts across teams, and ERA has ensured that this significant transition has been smooth thus far.

“When working on a project like this, the importance of a good relationship cannot be underestimated, and ERA has encouraged a refreshing level of openness and has offered a hands-on approach since day one.”

David Clewlow, Technical Sales Manager at ERA, says: “Working with Emplas on such a significant project has been a great experience. We have created an open and honest partnership that allows us to achieve the best for installers and their end-customers, which has all been possible through collaboration.

“I’m proud of the feedback we’ve received from the Emplas team, and I’m looking forward to the continued success of this project, and to see what the future holds for our partnership. It’s a fantastic example of ERA’s commitment to delivering a seamless customer experience.”
