All time high for Holz-Handwerk and Fensterbau/Frontale 2014

Holz-Handwerk and Fensterbau/Frontale 2014The closing report for Holz-Handwerk and Fensterbau/Frontale 2014 has recorded 108,967 trade visitors (compared to 98,973 in 2012) and 1,319 exhibitors (against 1,276 in 2012) in total.

The exhibition duo, which took place in Nuremberg from 26–29 March 2014, recorded more than 37,000 visitors on the second day of the exhibition alone, setting a new record for the highest attendance on one day in the history of the exhibition centre.

Besides the general increase of some 10% in the number of visitors, there was an encouraging rise in the share of visiting professionals from abroad. Compared with the previous event in 2012, 17% more foreign visitors attended the event to source information on current new products and technological developments in the sectors concerned. The 1,319 exhibitors from 39 countries occupied the whole of the 17 exhibition halls and presented the entire spectrum of products for the construction of windows, doors and facades (Fensterbau/Frontale) and wood crafts (Holz–Handwerk).

With 795 exhibitors and a gross display area of 99,500m2, 2014’s Fensterbau/Frontale alone showed ‘appreciable growth’ against 2012’s event, which saw 778 exhibitors over a display area of 94,500 m2.

The exhibitors at Fensterbau/Frontale 2014 came from 37 countries around the globe, headed by Germany, Poland, Italy, China, Turkey, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain and Denmark. The international share of visitors rose to 38% from 123 countries. An increase of 2% from 2012, which saw 36% from 115 countries.

Nine out of ten exhibitors are said to have rated Fensterbau/Frontale as a ‘very important to outstanding’ part of their marketing and sales activities, and well over 90% of the visitors reportedly were satisfied with the products on display and the information and contact opportunities available on the stands.

Around half of the exhibitors had brought along around 700 new products and innovations. 

,With 85% of the visitors involved in procurement decisions, 94% reported new business connections and 88% expect follow-up business.

The special show ‘Vibrant research – for vibrant lives’, which was organised jointly by ift Rosenheim, the Fachverband Glas, Fenster, Fassade (Glass, Window and Facade Association) Baden-Württemberg, NürnbergMesse and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, showed how research and the intelligent use of support funds can produce innovative technology, convincing quality and successful products.

The 7th Forum Architecture under the title of ‘Art in Architecture’ also took place on the second day of the exhibition and attracted almost 400 architects, building planners and interior designers.
