Northern Ireland based Apeer, manufacturer of the award winning range of Lumi frameless windows and residential doors, received a visit from the NI Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment minister, Jonathan Bell, recently, ahead of plans for significant future investment in the business.

After successfully launching the ‘ground breaking’ Lumi system, which features unique ‘edge-to-edge’ energy efficient triple glazing that is structurally bonded to a core of high strength, glass reinforced profiles, Apeer is now gearing up for further investment in machinery, marketing and the creation of 25 new jobs at its Ballymena HQ.

Jonathan Bell said: “Apeer is an ambitious company, undertaking a comprehensive growth strategy to boost its market share across Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

“Its investment in innovation and continuous improvement measures will ensure it has the resources, skills and equipment in place to maximise the sales potential of its new window range. The announcement of 25 new jobs, the majority of which are manufacturing roles, is also very positive news for Mid and East Antrim.”

Asa McGillian, managing director of Apeer, said: “Our phased investment programme is a significant commitment for the business which is designed to help us position ourselves competitively to secure new sales.

“The 25 new jobs, to include a variety of roles such as production and customer services, will ensure we have the capacity to meet the expected increase in future sales. Attending key exhibitions, such as Grand Designs and The FIT Show in 2016 will be valuable opportunities to raise our profile among industry leaders in the doors and windows industry and improve awareness of our product range among the general public.”
