Cornwall Glass Manufacturing (CGM) has marked the tenth anniversary of its annual customer golf day, welcoming 58 golfers to the Ashbury Hotel Golf Resort near Okehampton, Devon.
The event, which has continued to grow over the past decade, reflects CGM’s expanding customer base across the South West and beyond.
With four championship courses – Beeches, Pines, Oakwood and Kigbeare – Ashbury once again provided the ideal backdrop for a day of competition and networking.
The winning teams this year were Camborne Joinery on Beeches, Techniglaze on Pines (joined by CGM Sales Director Steven Marques and Saint-Gobain Glass’ Wayne Wright), Avon Armour on Oakwood, and Nordic Installations on Kigbeare.
The event was well supported by both customers and colleagues. From Saint-Gobain, James Nunn and Wayne Wright joined the day, while CGM was represented on the courses by Managing Director Mark Knight and Sales Director Steven Marques.
They were accompanied by Technical & Sales Director Angus Herdman and Sales Representative Sarah Ambrose, who ensured players were kept refreshed throughout the day by circulating the courses with drinks and snacks.
“Our golf day has always been about more than sport”, said Steven Marques, Sales Director at CGM. “It provides an opportunity for customers and colleagues to come together, share experiences, and build relationships in a way that strengthens the foundations of our business.”
The event was generously supported by Saint-Gobain Glass, who contributed to costs and supplied branded golf balls for participants. This gesture built on a further milestone that is being celebrated in 2025: a 25-year partnership between Cornwall Group and Saint-Gobain Glass.
The sponsorship reinforced the depth of the long-term strategic alliance between the two businesses that has extended beyond day-to-day supply, into supporting industry engagement and community events.
“Reaching ten years of our annual golf day is a proud milestone for us, and it reflects the continued growth of CGM as a business” Steven concluded. “Bringing people together in this way ensures we maintain close partnerships while creating opportunities for future collaboration.”
