Caribbean Blinds, a Sudbury-based manufacturer of external shading products, won two awards at the Family Business of the Year Awards 2021: East and East Anglia Business of the Year and Homes and Gardens Business of the Year. The double win was announced during an online awards ceremony yesterday (Thursday 24 June 2021), ahead of tonight’s Pro Landscaper Business Awards, a scheme in which Caribbean Blinds is also shortlisted (read our story about that, here.)

Stuart Dantzic, the business’ managing director, said: “Through a dynamic and forward-thinking approach, a committed, dedicated team and true family values at the heart of everything that we do, Caribbean Blinds has excelled in what has arguably been the toughest and most challenging 18 months for any business. So, to win both of these awards is absolutely amazing and a credit to the whole CB family, which thoroughly deserves it!”

Brad Dantzic, operations director, added: “Every one of the team is continually striving for excellence, each playing a key role in not just ensuring we deliver exceptional quality products with the best customer service but are continuing to innovate and evolve as a business. To have won not one, but two awards is a testament to our incredible team.”

Award sponsors, Birketts for the East and East Anglia region, described Caribbean Blinds as the “clear winner, a great business with a great ethos and a great ambassador for the family business sector”. Specialists in the manufacture and supply of outdoor shading systems – including stylish patio awnings, external blinds and its award-winning louvred roof canopy, branded the Outdoor Living Pod – Caribbean Blinds, founded in 1987, remains family run, following a structured buyout by Stuart and Brad Dantzic in January 2017.

The entrepreneurial duo has implemented a strategic development plan that has driven growth by 35% year-on-year. They have an ambitious strategy to quadruple the size of the company over the next five years, and are currently on track to do so.
