,Distinctions’ GRP composite fire doors are supplied by Taiwanese manufacturer, Nan Ya Plastics and according to Distinction, offer the ‘exceptional quality and attention to detail that Distinction’s customers will be familiar with’. When fitted correctly, it is claimed that the doors will resist fire for a period of 30 or 60 minutes, in accordance with British Standard BS 476-22 or BS EN 1634-1. Distinction fire doors also have the same commitment to aesthetics as the company’s standard doors, meaning visual appearance is not compromised by the safety aspects.

,The construction of the fire doors includes stiles and rails of hardwood lamels, finger jointed together which are bonded to the skin. The phenolic foam is constructed from fire retardant phenolic resin, flame retardant foaming and curing agents at a density of 0.075 g/cm3. The compression moulded door skins are manufactured from 2mm thick thermoset GRP (glass reinforced polyester). Performance on the FD60 fire door is enhanced with a layer of glass fibre matting applied to the inside of the inner and outer skins.
