Heritage timber window manufacturer achieves Made in Britain trademark

A UK manufacturer of bespoke timber windows and doors has reinforced its commitment to domestic production by joining the internationally recognised trade body Made in Britain.

With around 21% of homes in England built before 1919, and a third of non-residential buildings over 100 years old, according to Historic England, the accreditation comes as demand for heritage and conservation joinery remains a significant and ongoing feature of the UK construction and refurbishment market.

Landmark Windows Co Ltd, a family-run business founded by Steve Hunt and now led by his sons Tom and Ben, designs and manufactures timber sash windows, casement windows and hardwood doors from its in-house London workshop. With more than 35 years of industry experience, the company supplies both trade and residential projects across London and the South East, specialising in period and conservation properties.

Operating in a sector where provenance, compliance and craftsmanship are considered critical, the business believes that joining Made in Britain formalises its long-standing approach to UK manufacturing, combining traditional joinery methods with modern production techniques to maintain full control over quality.

Tom Hunt, Head of Operations at Landmark Windows Co Ltd, said: “For us, joining Made in Britain felt like a natural step. We’ve always been committed to manufacturing our timber windows and doors here in the UK, so it was about formalising that commitment.

“The membership represents both recognition and responsibility. It reinforces our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in British manufacturing and positions us among a community of respected UK producers.”

As specification requirements tighten and clients place greater emphasis on traceability and origin, Landmark believes the Made in Britain trademark provides a clear point of differentiation, particularly within the heritage and conservation market.

Charlie Casey, business development manager at Landmark Windows Co Ltd, said: “The Made in Britain mark gives an added layer of trust, especially when we’re speaking to new clients or exploring opportunities further afield. It helps reinforce the fact that everything we produce is genuinely made here in the UK.

“It provides a clear and immediate signal of quality and origin to our clients. We’re proud to be British.”

The business is continuing to invest in its workshop capabilities and sustainable timber solutions, with plans to expand its presence across the UK while maintaining a focus on high-specification joinery for heritage-led projects.

John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, added: “In competitive international markets, clarity around origin and quality matters more than ever. The Made in Britain trademark helps manufacturers to stand out, ensuring that buyers have trust and confidence in the standards and integrity behind British-made products.”

Alongside its bespoke manufacturing offering, Landmark also offers a sash upgrade service, which allows original box frames to be retained while improving glazing performance and draught-proofing, offering a practical and cost-effective solution for refurbishment projects where preservation is a priority.
