Liniar launches its Zero|90 ‘game changer’ system

Leaders of Liniar – the Denby-based systems company which is a subsidiary of Quanex – launched the Zero|90 window and door system on 24 January. Described as ‘a brand new, game-changing system,’ it is designed to help fabricators and installers meet Future Homes Standard regulations by achieving ultra-high energy efficiency properties, ‘unparalleled’ sound reduction and high sustainability credentials too.

Zero|90 evolved from Liniar’s 70mm EnergyPlus system, and boasts U-values as low as 0.66 W/m²K with triple glazing. The full suite of windows and doors comprises casement, tilt-and-turn, mock sash, French and bay window options, alongside a residential and French door.
Liniar has invested in tooling and machinery to extrude its sashes with a recycled core. This is one of the many features that the business’ leaders hope will help Zero|90 meet increasing demand for Passivhaus-capable fenestration products.

“By significantly enhancing a building’s energy performance and therefore reducing its carbon footprint, Liniar’s latest window and door system will help developers and homeowners transition towards net zero living,” explained Chris Armes, Liniar’s design and development director. “Our calculations show that replacing standard double-glazed windows with Zero|90 can save a UK household over £15,000 during the products’ lifespan.”

He continued: “Not only will Zero|90 lower energy consumption and the costs associated with running heating and cooling systems, it also provides superb sound reduction, ensuring that occupants enjoy all the wellbeing benefits that come with living in a comfortable, quiet home. With more and more developments being built in urban areas, cutting noise is high on the list for many specifiers.

“Zero|90 can reduce sound by up to 42 decibels.
