Making a splash for charity cash

,ice bucketMembers of the Glass and Glazing Products (GGP) and Bullseye team recently got a soaking after taking part in the chilly charity craze currently sweeping the globe.

,The controversial Ice Bucket Challenge dares nominated participants to pour a bucket of freezing cold water and ice over their heads, film it and post it online, challenging others to do the same. Participants must make a charitable financial donation for the privilege, with the option of making a larger donation if they choose to decline.

,After being nominated by hardware supplier, Carl F Groupco, GGP editor, Luke Wood, advertisement sales executive, Jake Roxborough (sporting his giraffe onesie), classified sales executive, Jack Walker and Bullseye editor, Sophie Stevens bravely took the plunge, dousing themselves in buckets of freezing cold water, complete with ice cubes.

,The Ice Bucket Challenge has spawned thousands of viral internet videos of people participating in the stunt to raise awareness and money for charities, notably those fighting against motor neurone disease, known in America, where the stunt originated, as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

,Among the numerous famous faces to have taken the challenge which is claimed to have raised £48 million in less than a month for charity, are Bill Gates, Victoria Beckham, Lady Ga Ga, Cara Delevingne, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, former US President George W Bush and actor, Matt Damon, who recently took part by drenching himself in toilet water in order to raise awareness of water and sanitation problems around the world.
