Oakland Glass completes £3m investment

IGU supplier, Oakland Glass, has recently completed a £3m investment programme which it says will ensure its customers ‘have everything they need’ to stay ahead of market demands.

Tina Moorhouse, managing director of Oakland Glass, commented: “We work with all sorts of customers across all sorts of sectors but they all have something in common – they’re focussed on quality above all else. As the high-end market continues to show growth, we wanted to ensure our customers were getting everything they need and more from us as their sealed unit supplier.

“We have invested £3m over the last three years in all parts of the business – we’ve extended our manufacturing facility by another 9,500ft2 taking us to a total premises size of 45,000ft2; we’ve added new vehicles, including a 7.5 tonne lorry and long wheel based van in the last 12 months; we’ve reduced waste in the factory; upgraded and added machinery including a new cutting line, and invested in people. We now have five production lines running every day, but can double up if we ever need to, so have built in capacity for future growth too.

“We partner with a certain kind of customer because we want to work with like-minded people that also want to raise standards in the industry and offer the very best products with the very best service. With our latest round of investment now complete, we’re in a strong position to give existing and new customers what they need to get ahead in the current market place.”
