Profine sells window and door manufacturing facilities

Following on from the acquisition of essential assets from the administrators of Aperture Trading, which includes the Evolve, Legend and WarmCore brands, Profine Group have sold the finished window and door manufacturing facilities to Solar Norvik and Solar Calibre Doors for an undisclosed sum.

Solar Norvik and Solar Calibre are newly formed companies by the same owner/ management team behind the Solar Windows and Interframe (SW) businesses, which operate in the commercial and trade sectors respectively.

As a global systems house, Profine said that the manufacturing facilities that were bought as part of the deal have been deemed ‘non-core’ and so the challenge during the lockdown period was to find a suitable partner to take on these manufacturing units. According to Profine, there’s now a partnership deal for growth in place between Profine and the new Solar businesses, and importantly, Solar Norvik and Solar Calibre Doors will continue to operate at the Huthwaite site.

Gareth Jones, managing director of Profine UK, commented: “It made commercial sense to buy all of the remaining assets from KPMG, the administrators of Aperture Trading, but given our group mantra of excelling in our core competences, we’ve found a reputable partner for the manufacturing facilities. I have known Carl Lewis for nearly 20 years, and I do believe that we have the perfect partner in place to take these businesses and brands forward.”

Carl Lewis, managing director of Solar Norvik and Solar Calibre Doors, concluded: “Both the Norvik and Calibre Doors assets will fit perfectly into our current business model and we’re genuinely thrilled with the deal and partnership programme that we have in place with Profine. It’s also good news for both businesses, the local labour market, for the supply chain and ultimately the customers of both brands.”
