Redefining window and door supply in the COVID-19 era

With many manufacturers and suppliers in the window, door and conservatory industry already either returning to work, or announcing plans to do so, Emplas hosted a second virtual roundtable last week to discuss a range of topics, including the challenges of working in people’s homes to the ‘unfurloughing’ of employees and payments.

The discussion, which can be viewed below, was held on Thursday 30 April and was attended by Ryan Johnson, managing director at Emplas; Clare O’Hara, managing director at Epwin Window Systems; Thom Emerson, sales and marketing director at Ideal Window Solutions; Mark Pearce, managing director, KJM Group; and representatives of industry media.

Discussion also focussed around a lack of a single, authoritative voice in the glazing industry regarding advice and guidance for companies during Covid-19, the outlook of the industry over the coming year – including challenges and opportunities for companies – the importance of phased return to work, and the looming deadline of the end of furlough support in June.
