Solidor releases new television advert

Solidor has released a new TV advert, which features on Channel 4 and associated channels such as Film4 and E4.

The advert shows a father, Chris, closing the front door behind him to be met by his young family, and a young woman, Lizzie, doing the same before ‘luxuriating’ in a hot bath.

“We decided to feature real people’s homes to make the advert more realistic,” said Jonathan Brignall, marketing director at Solidor. “The message is that choosing the right front door is so important for creating that ‘I’m home’ atmosphere when you close it behind you and escape the rest of the world.”

Solidor said it chose two contrasting styles of house for the advert to demonstrate that “there is a door style for every home”.

According to a statement, the first, a modern, five-bedroom, family home in Leeds, was the ‘perfect match’ for an Anthracite Grey Palermo from Solidor’s Italia range. The second, a Victorian home sympathetically refurbished to retain its period style, benefited from a Peacock Blue Edinburgh with a uniquely contrasting Buttercup Yellow interior.

For the campaign, Solidor worked with Northwest family-run business Alexander Windows, who pulled out all the stops to ensure installation was finished in time for filming, providing two of their most experienced installers, Ross Corbett and Graham Stubbs.

Alex Wood, sales director at Alexander Windows, added: “We pride ourselves on helping our clients to build the feeling of home, to create their sanctuary, and our partnership with Solidor helps us to do just that. This advert is a great opportunity to share with viewers the joy we get to see every day when installing tailor-made Solidors in our customers’ homes.”
