Starglaze achieves Family Business of the Year 2022

Starglaze Windows and Conservatories – Sternfenster’s retail company – won the Family Business of the Year Award at this year’s LincolnshireLive Business Awards on 20 October. The win underlines the fabricator’s commitment to continued ongoing investment in people, machinery and product development, which will help provide a solid foundation for future success, Sternfenster’s representatives have said.

“We’ve had a very busy year this last year, improving productivity, customer service and career opportunities for our colleagues,” explained Mike Parczuk, Sternfenster’s managing director. “Winning this award is testament to all the hard work everyone at Starglaze has put in to achieving the high standards we have set ourselves.

“To everyone working at our busy site in Lincoln – and to all our customers – I would like to say ‘thank you.’ Awards like these prove that together we can achieve great things.”

Recent investments at the company include a virtual showroom, which leaders say gives the business greater control of the sales process. The virtual showroom is a multi-tiered platform that includes elements such as CGI videos, 360º product walkthroughs, sales videos and an online tour. The £40,000 investment allowed for the provision of tools to ‘effortlessly’ manage leads from enquiry through to sale, and demonstrates the company’s commitment to technological advancement, its leaders say.

People play a central role at Starglaze: the company’s family principles and its training and development framework underpins many of the window fabricator’s business functions. Having been awarded Silver Investors in People status in October 2020, the company’s vision is to attain gold, an honour that only 19% of business achieve. To meet this ambitious goal, Sternfenster has created a series of bespoke training and development initiatives for its staff. Leaders hope that staff will then, in turn, drive the success of the business. Read more about Sternfenster here.
